Rules in golf are dumb, you’re supposed to get rewarded for hitting fairways yet you can’t get relief from pitch marks or divots on the fairway, why is this still a thing

I believe this is a no-penalty situation. There's leniency written in the rule Only cameras allow us to know it's not his own, and cameras don't follow every player, so I think the Tour decided coverage can't be used to issue penalties that wouldn't have been there otherwise.

Change therule, and while you’re at it, let them wear shorts, drive golf carts, and have shotgun starts. Viewership will double overnight…. And we will get five more years of tiger woods in the top ten each week. Everyone wins.
