LARGEST FLARE IN A DECADE! We just had an X2.28 flare making it not only the largest flare so far this cycle but the largest flare since 29th October 2013 (near the peak of SC24). It occurred on the NE limb from sunspot region AR3229 and peaked at 20:22 UT on Friday 17th February

The Axial Precession and the Apsidal Precession together create a cycle between glaciation, or so-called ice ages, with an average duration of about 23,000 years. This cycle gives rise to the four great seasons of the Great Year, or the four ages of man, the Golden Age, Silver Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age, which correspond to the four Yugas. Usually, the Iron Age or Kali Yuga is associated with the cold, glacial period of the cycle. The ancient esoteric knowledge divides this process into 24,000 years — 12,000 years associated with light (day) and 12,000 years associated with darkness (night). The Last Glacial Maximum occurred between 20,000 and 24,000 years ago, which places us right within the zone for global cooling.

Region 3697 (old Region 3664) is at it again! A long-duration X1.45-flare and a nearly Earth-directed #solarstorm launch today. We may be grazed by the shockwave of this storm in a couple of days. Radio operators on the dayside are feeling this R3-level #Radioblackout for sure!

Absolutely insane! Yesterday's X1.1 class #SolarFlare was observed in high resolution by the NASA IRIS mission. IRIS observes with a small field-of-view, so catching the largest flares is rare. But just look at this, I haven't seen a flare observation this cool in a long time. ☀️

You can see the disturbance from the recent X5 solar flare covering nearly half of the Sun. It produced a fast, full-halo CME with a highly dense core. With two preceding CMEs already on their way, this event will further intensify the geomagnetic activity on an already weakened magnetic field. The earlier CMEs are already arriving, but the one from the X5 flare has not yet reached Earth.

Having only opened for operations in May of 2025, the current 130,000m² held around 120 million items, making the facility the 6th largest in Russia. It was about to be expanded to 176,000 m² which would have made it the 3rd largest.

This marks the peak of the Sun's 11-year activity cycle, characterized by frequent sunspots, solar flares, and coronal mass ejections. The solar maximum brings increased solar activity, which can cause geomagnetic storms affecting Earth’s power grids, communications, and satellites but also leads to beautiful auroras. Scientists cannot predict the exact timing or strength of solar cycles with precision. The Sun's magnetic poles will eventually switch places, and the activity will decrease, but the exact peak of this cycle may not be known for months or years. Although this cycle is stronger than initial predictions, it remains within normal limits. The most powerful flare of this cycle occurred on October 4, 2024, but wasn't the strongest ever recorded. 👉

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Halloween Solar Storms of 2003. This was a period of exceptional high solar activity during Solar Cycle 23 including the strongest solar flare recorded in modern history peaking between X28 and X45. There were also many earth-directed coronal mass ejections which caused multiple G5 geomagnetic storms. Aurora displays were visible as far south as Texas in the USA and Spain in Europe. 10 year ago we made a YouTube special about these events. Well worth a look if you haven't seen it yet!

Since the advent of modern technology, we haven't witnessed a Carrington-level solar flare event or a Grand Solar Minimum, and we are due for both events. Our civilization can't survive what is coming, especially given that Earth's magnetic field is weakening with the ongoing geomagnetic excursion. The elites are well aware of this situation, which is why they are building doomsday bunkers. If we lose electricity, the worst place to be is a major city.

The volatility - yes, volatility - in AR 4366 is absolutely unbelievable. I don't think I have ever used the word 'volatility' to describe an active region. The X-ray flux has been mostly above the M-class threshold for *35 hours* now. There have been 25+ M-class and 4 X-class flares. It is unfortunate that most of these flares are impulsive, else we'd have a train of CMEs en route and likely impacting by now. Even so, the show is incredible, one of the highlights of Solar Cycle 25 - we will be talking about this for a long time!

A giant canyon on the Sun On July 15, a powerful flare occurred on the surface of the Sun, which briefly changed its structure and caused the release of hot plasma into space. As a result of this event, a plasma "scar" about 400,000 kilometers long appeared. This is approximately the distance from the Earth to the Moon. The height of the structure reaches 20,000 kilometers. All this was recorded with high accuracy by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO).

I would develop the following piece of technology: "2 cameras integrated into the side mirrors which will not allow a passenger or driver to open the side doors in the event that a cycle is driving towards the mirrors." This is really enough!
