Xbox mode not the greatest for dual-monitor setups

Who in there right mind uses a TV with their PC?!

i know a lot of people who do it. playing from sofa is nice, especially co-op games etc? what do you think helix / steam machine will be?

Well, they’re losing out on performance being limited to HDMI some folks are still on HDMI 2.0 and earlier tv displays. I assume helix would offer both hdmi and DP to get the most out of it and to fully exploit its PC side

@kidsmoove Yes Jez HDMI 2.1 support and dual display ports needs to be standard for the Helix as well as expandable RAM and SSD slots. If not then it's an issue that limits frame, refresh rate, and rez capability, and performance in general.

It does not make sense you use it with 2 monitors. It's a console experience.

Because it xbox mode! I have 3 monitors, I had no expectations for it to extend to those monitors. Its about resource saving not just giving you another desktop. If you need to use multiple monitors when gaming on PC then don't go into xbox mode

Just use steam big picture mode. Why do former Xbox fans who switched to PC insist on still using every Xbox program when there are much better alternatives. You’re on PC now, stop being shackled to the Xbox brand.

That’s what the PC mode is for. Honestly I’d rather them nail the TV experience before they start doing edge cases like these.

Yep doing the same. If you change it to much to say duplicate it will make the 2nd screen have a red haze to the screen.

They should give us an option to turn off the second monitor or display the dashboard so you can open apps on the second monitor within Xbox mode

The point of Xbox mode is to save resources for gaming so running dual screens use more vram and ram.

Ну очевидно, для стримов это и не разрабатывалось. Для этого все ещё есть режим Винды. А вообще насколько я помню, стримеры часто используют связку двух компьютеров, чтобы отдать игру один полностью, а второй под OBS и остальное.
