British PM Keir Starmer announced that China has lifted "all restrictions" on six current UK MPs following his talks with Xi Jinping in Beijing. China had imposed the sanctions in 2021, targeting Conservative MPs Iain Duncan Smith, Nusrat Ghani, Tom Tugendhat, Neil O’Brien, and Tim Loughton, who is no longer in Parliament. Peers Baroness Kennedy and Lord Alton, members of the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China, were also sanctioned. The restrictions had banned them from entering China, Hong Kong, and Macau, frozen their property in China, and prohibited Chinese citizens and institutions from doing business with them. The UK has not lifted any sanctions on Chinese individuals.
