🍀 : when i was in elementary school i watched 'mix&match' and 'win' and thought this is how trainees do it, i thought everyone had to be as good at dance, sing & rap as iKON 🍀 : so when i joined my first company i was so worried, i wanted to be as good as them but i didn’t know at the time they already debuted i realized was so wrong about it, you don't have to be this good to be a trainee 🍀 : but i was really anxious before joining, i liked exercising and all but i was embarrassing when dancing and singing so i was worried

Taehyung on his journey to being an Idol from a small dance academy in Daegu to Bighit auditions 🗣️: So how did you start becoming an idol? 🐻: I started going to a dance academy, and that’s where I came across an audition for non-majors. I heard Big Hit was holding auditions, so I went but honestly, my skills weren’t that great. I had only been learning for about seven months 🐻: So I just had a basic foundation. I didn’t really know choreography or anything like that. 🗣️: Then why dance? 🐻 Honestly… what I’ve always liked the most is dancing. Ever since I was young, my grandparents would always tell me I was good at it, so I started to believe it. But when I actually went to a dance academy, I realized I wasn’t really that good. 🐻 Around that time, I heard there was a Big Hit audition and it had been about seven months. But honestly, I just wanted to see people in Seoul, so I went out of curiosity. It felt new like a different kind of atmosphere. Back then,people from Seoul seemed like they were all successful somehow. So I just wanted to see that for myself 🐻: After the audition ended, a BigHit staff member came up to me: “Did you come here to audition?” I said, “No, I just came to look around.” But they said, “Let’s see you try anyway,” so I ended up auditioning. 🐻: I got cast right there on the spot. They told me, “Come up to Seoul.” That’s how it started. 🗣️: What did you do there? Took photos? 🐻: No… they asked me to sing. 🐻: But honestly, I had never really learned how to sing. I had mostly just listened to CDs growing up; older songs, trot music with my grandparents. So I tried singing a more recent pop song, but it didn’t leave much of an impression 🐻: Then I thought, “Let me try something I’m better at,” so I danced. But compared to others, there was still a big gap in skill. 🐻: So I tried everything, rap, beatboxing… and finally, I played the saxophone. 🗣️: Did you ever ask why you got in? 🐻 I did! asked, “How did I get accepted?”And I think, they just found me interesting. 🗣️: In what way? 🐻 Even though I wasn’t that good, I kind of acted like I was doing well but my expressions were sincere. 🐶 that’s why i have this routine now, whenever i meet a new dance choreographer, i tell them first, “sonsaengnim, don't be surprised, just hear me out first. ever since long ago, i kinda have this thing where i cry during dance practice. so if i suddenly start crying, don't be shocked. that just means i'm getting more focused on the dance, so just don't mind me.” 🐶 the members know about it now too. at first they were worried like, “unnie, are you crying? are you okay?” but i hate when that embarrassing side of me gets noticed, i just want everyone to focus on their own stuff. 👨🏻 so they don't focus on me? 🐶 yeah, so i told them, “guys, i always cry when i dance anyway, so don't worry about it, just keep doing what you're doing.” and after that, now whenever the members see me crying, they just glance over at me for a second. and later if they catch me crying again they'll just go, “guys, look, sejeong's crying again ㅋㅋㅋ”

So he was very nervous because we added a few new moves After the rehearsal, backstage, it was the first time I’d ever seen him so extroverted. He went up to everyone there were eight of us and told each person, “I did it right, I did it right.” He said it to everyone. Just imagine Song Weilong like that. “I did it right! q. it’s an obvious question but when you came back to be in the band, it’s an interesting thing because you’re the youngest and they’ll always think of you as the youngest but you’re also a solo hitmaker. how did that affect the way that you approach things for the new album and maybe the way the other members approach things with you? 🐰: i’m just a very carefree and open person and I don’t think too much during my day-to-day unless I really have to. so when it comes to work process or choosing songs, I’ll express myself, sure, I’ll speak up and share my opinion, but I don’t stress about it. rather… well I don’t know about the others, I guess some of the members were pretty stressed but I just thought it was fun! ⛰️ I think I was standing for almost half of the flight time. Since I’ve just been dancing continuously from when I was young and doing things like that*, my body isn’t really in good condition. But now, since the situation was such that I had to keep going anyway, I told the flight attendant, “I’m sorry, but would it be okay if I stand for a bit?” ⛰️ When I say it like this, it sounds like I’m making a show of it, but I just wanted to tell you how much it meant to me/how sincere I was about it.
