The story was never primarily about plagiarism. Plagiarism allegations alone are dull and rarely grip the public. Wild, fabricated elements of Arday’s personal narrative kept emerging: extraordinary athletic feats that didn’t hold up, inflated charity fundraising figures, and other biographical assertions that proved untrue or heavily exaggerated. These weren’t minor embellishments. They were central to the inspirational story that propelled him into the spotlight and, crucially, into a senior role at Cambridge. The university’s decision to hire him as its youngest Black professor, on the strength of that narrative, added another layer. When the claims started collapsing under scrutiny, the gap between the marketed image and the reality became impossible to ignore. All of it originated with Arday himself. This is why the story refused to die after the resignation. It wasn’t a racial targeting exercise, as some claim. NEURALINK: CJ suffered a spinal cord injury and is ventilator-dependent. A few months ago, he was selected for the Neuralink PRIME Study at The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis.
