I do feel like there’s a cultural expectation when it comes to Black people that relationships (in all contexts) should be enduring despite the struggles or complexities that we face and i think it informs how we navigate other aspects of life. It’s a toxic form of togetherness

Suffering is supposed to inspire growth, in my opinion. But you have to choose to be wise about what you grow into.

So why are regular people who also speak just like this ostracized and make fun of? Society’s obsession with identity politics and celebrity is preventing real messaging from translating and being effective

On the "suffering"... mitigation of suffering is a noble pursuit. But we can't eliminate it, nor should we. We still have to endure nature. Desire for a soft life of comfort leads to complacency at the expense of CAPABILITY (a byproduct of strife, a necessity during misfortune).

I think as black people especially for generations that came before us, struggle and strife were apart of their experience so many relationships were based on the concept of enduring together, a necessity for survival but a hindrance today where those tools of oppression-
