Yeah, I can already see this becoming my favorite turn based combat system The real time mechanics genuinely make so much sense to have rather than just watching animations happen in between turns This game man… 😮💨

I am very aware about the other games that have real time elements to it: Yakuza, Legend of Dragoon, Paper Mario, etc. However Expedition 33 is still very unique from those games with its own implementation of it. And so I urge everyone on the fence about it to absolutely give it a shot!

🤠 We're a small indie team making a Space Western game that mix together cRPGs like the original Fallout and top-down shooters like Ruiner. Featuring real-time combat, organic roleplay, and a deep narrative with different endings 🚀 👉 Wishlist on Steam

also the soundtrack have been fantastic, I love this game so much already

Yes! The soundtrack has been stellar

I feel like the being forced to push the button is unnecessary and adds nothing

I disagree. I think it adds much more engagement than simply watching animations happen and just sitting there. It’s also worth mentioning the real time mechanics extend to way more than the QTE commands. You have to actually react in real time to enemy attacks such as dodge, parry, and jump every time it’s the enemy’s turn, and it’s not easy to predict.

there's ppl that actually tried to hate on the reactive based mechanics. they're so refreshing & engaging. very innovative for the turn based action scene. Sandfall really pioneered & trailblazed a new lane for turn based action. no doubt future developers r gonna try to copy it

The best games that come after won’t copy it, but see what it did and iterate on it. That’s exactly what Expedition 33 did and look where it got them.

Funnily enough the Mario & Luigi series has had mechanics like this for decades now. I've been talking about how cool and engaging it would be to have a system like this in Pokemon for years

It is very neat, i've had a few fights where realistically I probably should've managed my skills/items better, but having the capacity to also just lock in and counter/dodge to save your life and completely clutch a fight is equally as fun as good management.

Yes it’s so awesome!
