You stood back on tuition fees a political choice . Another legacy just like the legacy of Austerity for many working class families. Thatcher left similar legacies that impact now still from the 1970s . Add all of that together you get the sum of all the parts. Poverty.

The two-child cap pushed half of children in larger families into poverty. Today, Labour abolishes it. I stood for office to stop drawing charts and start changing them. This change will see the biggest drop in child poverty of any parliament on record. Know what that is? Hope.

I’m so proud that our Labour Government are removing the two child benefit cap from April - announced in today’s Budget. This will lift over a massive 450,000 children out of poverty across the country. This is the difference a Labour Government makes.
