I grew up in Michigan, and this is how I “walked” home at night from friends’ houses in the winter . You missed out. The best rides were the ones when they tried to throw you off. Good times, good times.

The trick of course is that you lock in with your elbows around the poles as close to the center as you can get. You only hang on to the outside poles as a last resort if you are being dragged to your death after losing your initial grip.

Yep! And we used to swing as high as we could get on the swings and jump off so we could fly! The gravel playground didn't feel so great when we hit the ground but that never stopped us!
