Love how they portray Batman initially surprising Shredder because he didn’t think he was THAT good only for Shredder to (barely) get the W with some secret mystic martial arts technique Bruce wouldn’t have a defense for.

I honestly love how it isn’t just “Shredder beats Batman with ease so now he HAS to team up with the turtles to beat him” but rather both of them were essentially equals and could barely stand after the fight

The amount of people in the comments surprised that Batman had trouble beating Shredder is alarming. Shredder was a real threat in his own series. Why do yall think he’s the main villain to 5 different people?

Shredder is a real menace when he isn't fighting 4 turtles simultaneously.

It makes you realize just how much of a heavy hitter Shredder actually is. Like if you plucked him out of the Turtles medium and into a medium like DC he’d be quite a power hitter.

Its perfect because it really gets two things One Batman in a one on one fight should fight like he's Sherlock Holmes with Aiki and Judo turned all the way up. Two shredder is used to fighting four skilled combatants at once so a one on one fight needs to have a certain weight.

I remember someone once pointed it out that Batman PUNCHES THE BLADES off of Shredder’s gauntlets, and Shredder’s genuine look of surprise is so good.

@TheBatspecter Legit my favorite thing about this fight is that both Batman and Shredder have that brief moment of pause after getting tossed where they’re like like, “Okay, what the fuck?”

I still think it's wild that this fight is preceded by a legitimate on-screen murder via shuriken to the head, on a Nickelodeon joint production

Seeing Batman and Shredder throw hands is one of those things I never knew I needed until I saw it. One of the best fights I've ever seen. Pure perfection

I like how they represent two opposing views of martial arts. All of Batman's moves, even the batarangs, are with the intent to disable, not kill. But the Shredder's are all Offense moves, aimed at killing or destroying. They both recognize each other's style.

Love how they pull off the Shredder slow mo fall in animation before this.

I perdonally want this version to be adapted. Bruce and the turtles were raised by Splinter. I keep thowing money at the screwn and nothing happens.

You can clearly see Batman's thought process throughout the whole fight. He realizes that Shredder is a skilled striker but has terrible defense against grappling. He then adapts his style to incorporate more short range jiujitsu and judo and nearly wins because of it.

I’m not gonna lie, I fine this film to be silly. Batman vs TMNT, I just can’t take this seriously.

It also shows how Shredder can be a threat to four mutant turtles because I believe shortly after this Batman went one on one with them.

Movie was WAY better than it had any right to be. There's 2 more TMNT/Batman Graphic Novels, they need to adapt the trilogy this way!

I wish they did like a held clash between their arm blades because like, that’s *THE* character design thing they share in common and would’ve been so great to acknowledge

In my honest opinion Batman only won because of Raphs' help. In terms of this movie specifically If it was just a straight 1 v 1 fight with batman using his gadgets and prep-time it wouldn't matter the Shredder is a Master even rivaling Raj al Gul. Shredder was able to get through everything batman threw at him and even disarmed him. I like Batman and I like the Shredder but when it comes down to it Shredder would have just ended there plus Batman was still affected by the Shredder's attack before.
