If you have kids or grandkids, you're probably aware of just how bad a lot of video games are. They often glorify sex or violence, reaffirm every secular viewpoint about the authority of the self, and promote contra-biblical ideas about social justice. In fact, I shared a few months ago about how most video game development college programs explicitly frame their goals in terms of educating developers who will pursue (culturally-approved) social justice themes. Well, my 17-year-old son wants to help change that. He has a passion for video game development and recently created his own game studio. He started teaching himself programming and game development when he was in third grade and has poured hundreds upon hundreds of hours into gaining expertise in these areas over the last decade--all on his own, in his free time. Over the last 9 months in particular, he's been solo developing his debut game for the market, Nitro Turtles! It's a party racing game about turtles that will release on March 10. Nitro Turtles will have 9 race courses, a speedrun mode with online leaderboards, and split screen/online multiplayer. If you don't play video games and you don't have kids or grandkids who do, check out the game trailer below anyway just for fun. But if you're a fan of indie games or have kids/grandkids who would enjoy playing this, please wishlist the game on Steam (Steam is the marketplace for computer games where Nitro Turtles will be released--he already has a demo up on that page where you can try it out).

Hello, my beautiful family! I’m excited to announce that I have created a 3D game! This project was inspired by some wonderful members of our family at IRYS. I especially want to thank Dantashi (✧ᴗ✧) for encouraging me to get started. I’ve taken a small and slow approach, and now I’m working on developing my skills. I'm very happy to tell you that we have welcomed our very first cat into our new shelter, which we could only build thanks to your generous help and support. We also took two of our other cats so there is now three cats living there, my friends. My children are overjoyed to have a new responsibility and now I must buy things that this sweet kitten will need to live in our care. We will need plenty of food and medicine like flea and worm treatments to keep him healthy. Also, I wanted to tell you that this new kitten does not have a name yet. If you have a good name for him, please suggest it to me, my friends. I also wanted to give you the great news that my cousin Mo and his wife have welcomed their newborn son into the world, I am sure he will write to you soon to introduce him to you. Mo is like my brother and I am so very proud and happy to see his family experience this joy. Our children spend a lot of time together and it will be wonderful to have new joy in our lives. I feel very tired and exhausted from my illness, I can hardly think to write to you, my friends. I hope that you will stand by us and support our new kitten and the shelter, as well as our cruelty free camp, so that we might all see more comfortable days than the suffering that all of 🇵🇸💔🌿#Gaza continues to endure. We are in Merrillville tonight purchasing heaters, propane, and generators for families impacted by the devastating tornado in the Lake Village area. Temperatures across northern Indiana have dropped into the low 30s, creating an extremely difficult situation for families who have already lost their homes and power. Yesterday was literally the hardest day of my life. I don't think I have ever experienced anything harder. I was with the Camp family as they released baby Annelise into the arms of Jesus. My God, I can't even speak of how hard this was. She was the most precious 2-year-old baby. My heart still hurts for this family, and I'm not sure it will ever stop. Please stop today and love on people. I don't think anything on this earth can prepare you for the loss of a child. Please pray today for the Camp family. This is a devastating loss. Jesus, we trust in YOU! This is baby Annelise's uncle Marshall who poured his heart out in the chapel at the hospital. We put our trust in you Lord this is only a temporary separation for this precious family. Lord hear our prayers.
