Hello, my beautiful family! I’m excited to announce that I have created a 3D game! This project was inspired by some wonderful members of our family at IRYS. I especially want to thank Dantashi (✧ᴗ✧) for encouraging me to get started. I’ve taken a small and slow approach, and now I’m working on developing my skills. Thank you xaitoshi (generalist) for your unconditional support and for providing vibes during our coding sessions; this has helped me and many others in IRYS. Shoutout to my brother MALIK who has really helped and guided me throughout this process! This is my first game, and I’ve invested a lot of time, energy, and money into creating it. Let me give you a quick introduction to the game: It’s called Irysshot. In this game, we have to defeat some zombies! link - I built it using the platform, which assists with coding but does require payment. However, I am working on improving my professional coding skills. Along with this, I’ll be including my artwork, which I will post on X, as well as incorporate into the game. 😁 also thank you Quang I hope you all enjoy playing this game! If you have kids or grandkids, you're probably aware of just how bad a lot of video games are. They often glorify sex or violence, reaffirm every secular viewpoint about the authority of the self, and promote contra-biblical ideas about social justice. In fact, I shared a few months ago about how most video game development college programs explicitly frame their goals in terms of educating developers who will pursue (culturally-approved) social justice themes. Well, my 17-year-old son wants to help change that. He has a passion for video game development and recently created his own game studio. He started teaching himself programming and game development when he was in third grade and has poured hundreds upon hundreds of hours into gaining expertise in these areas over the last decade--all on his own, in his free time. Over the last 9 months in particular, he's been solo developing his debut game for the market, Nitro Turtles! It's a party racing game about turtles that will release on March 10. Nitro Turtles will have 9 race courses, a speedrun mode with online leaderboards, and split screen/online multiplayer. If you don't play video games and you don't have kids or grandkids who do, check out the game trailer below anyway just for fun. But if you're a fan of indie games or have kids/grandkids who would enjoy playing this, please wishlist the game on Steam (Steam is the marketplace for computer games where Nitro Turtles will be released--he already has a demo up on that page where you can try it out).

Hi! I'm a solo video game developer making my dream game, Northfall. This is how I spent two evenings of my life this week: making a yellow tape suit! I saw an outfit like this in some video game around 2010, but I honestly can't remember which game it was. If you recognize it, please tell me because it's driving me crazy! At first, I thought I could get away with a bunch of cylinders and shrinkwrap modifiers in blender. Turns out, it was way harder than I expected... Then I ran into the next problem: UV unwrapping. My first idea was to draw a texture that perfectly matched all the tape. It was a disaster... Then I remembered something important: video games are all about smoke and mirrors. You don't always have to make things as complicated as they look. So instead of making a huge complicated texture, I made one simple stripe and a few decals. Even then, it wasn't easy.
