Today, I met for the first time with Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein. We discussed the continuation of humanitarian assistance to Ukraine. I am grateful for all the support provided to our country. We also discussed the threats posed by Russia, in particular its violations of NATO countries’ airspace, and the importance of pressure on the Russian Federation to end the war and prevent its aggression from spreading to other European countries. The Prince praised the courage of Ukrainians and said important words: Ukraine is defending not only itself, but all of Europe. We value such solidarity with our people.

Together with Prime Minister of Belgium Bart De Wever, we discussed mechanisms for using frozen Russian assets. I understand all of Belgium’s concerns; however, a decision on the reparations loan must be made. It is fair and will ensure long-term predictability for Ukraine. We also discussed coordination in diplomacy between Europe and the United States for the sake of peace, Ukraine’s future membership in the European Union, support for Ukraine’s energy system, and reconstruction. I thank Belgium and the entire Belgian people for supporting Ukraine from the very beginning of the full-scale war. I am also grateful for Belgium’s contribution to the PURL initiative.

We discussed steps that will help protect the lives of Ukrainians, restore security, and bring us closer to an unconditional ceasefire. We also talked about strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and the EU, particularly through the ReArm Europe initiative. Special attention was given to the preparation of the EU's 17th sanctions package. It is crucial that this package targets key sectors of the Russian economy and serves as one of the elements of pressure on Russia to restore peace. We value the support of the European Union. Together, we are working for the safety of people, a just peace, and Ukraine’s European future.

We are also ready for the next round of trilateral meetings. We also discussed the Ukraine Recovery Conference, work on good-neighborly relations in the region, and contacts with partners. We need more of our joint production, more of our resilience, more coordination and effectiveness of our shared security architecture in Europe. The most significant thing we can achieve together is ending the war with a dignified peace and creating reliable security guarantees for Ukraine and for all of Europe – so that no one in Europe is afraid of being left without protection. This is highly significant. We also share the view that Ukraine and Moldova must continue moving together toward EU membership. Today, together and in several formats, we are determining what we will discuss in Washington, D. C. It is crucial that Europe remains as united as it was in 2022. This unity helps bring a just peace closer, and it must remain strong. We agreed on the necessity of a ceasefire for subsequent diplomatic steps, effective security guarantees for Ukraine, and continued sanctions pressure on Russia to limit its future potential. I thank Ursula personally and the whole of Europe that supports us and our quest for a just end to this war.

I had an important meeting with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen in Brussels. Significant support for Ukraine in the context of the upcoming meeting with President Trump. Today, together and in several formats, we are determining what we will discuss in Washington, D. C. It is crucial that Europe remains as united as it was in 2022. This unity helps bring a just peace closer, and it must remain strong. We agreed on the necessity of a ceasefire for subsequent diplomatic steps, effective security guarantees for Ukraine, and continued sanctions pressure on Russia to limit its future potential. I thank Ursula personally and the whole of Europe that supports us and our quest for a just end to this war.
