"Why can we not... build a computer that acts like biology? The single thing that hit me when I was an undergrad, like 30 years ago, and that’s when I learned about 20 watts of energy in your brain, and just how biology kind of does computation. It doesn’t really do computation, by the way. It’s like dynamical systems, but we can get into that later. My whole career has been about that, actually. When I came out of undergrad, I was like, “Okay, well I wanna build computers. How do I build those?” So I actually became a computer architect. I worked on UltraSPARC III and a bunch of processors, then did a bunch of ASICs, then went back to school to do a PhD in neuroscience. And I’m like, “Okay, now I know how to build a machine. I’ve done it several times, sort of from scratch.” I’m still no closer to the answer of why computers aren’t as good as brains. At that time, we didn’t really understand what brains were doing. I think now we kind of do, but at that time we almost thought of brains as sort of magical." “The last time that we were touring and stuff, I think touring is quite an isolating experience. And on top of that, when we started touring, it was 2021, so it was kind of like still depths of the pandemic. We were like one of the first tours to go back out. So I think that tour started in that way where it was like, I was really bubbled up even kind of within the tour. And then staying on that tour, we put an album out and it ended up being like two and a half years type time. It's just a long time to be in like a bubble where you're not really spending that much time like in the world around you, other than shows and hotels and stuff. And when I finished, I kind of went off and was spending a lot of time in Italy, and was kind of like having this quiet time, and I was just feeling a lot of my life as I was kind of like, craving like quiet and kind of like private spaces. I was just feeling myself kind of like shut out a lot of the world, “I think, and I think the last couple of years for me was about, you know, there's a lot of things that I think I got used to saying no to, like invites from friends and like maybe a weekend trip or like a birthday party or something. I think I just got used to, you know, if I have a week at home, I don't want to go somewhere else for three days. I just want to stay home, you know. I will definitely do a risk assessment of like how I will sort of approach that, but there is definitely a part of me that knows it’s high risk, high reward when you try to diversify. I think if you just do all high risk then it’s probably not the greatest idea, but I think this year was the perfect time. I knew I was doing 'The Odyssey' as well. 🐨: When we all got together, we were like, so what is something that’s really us? We thought about that a lot, and we wanted to show where we started, I think. 🐨: All seven of us are also, all Korean, too, and we thought it would be good if something symbolizing Korea could be included together, and while thinking that, we ended up, uh, bringing up the keyword, uh, “Arirang.” 🐨: “Arirang,” of course, is kind of… honestly, everyone interprets it differently, since the lyrics are abstract. I think it’s a story about this lingering feeling, longing, and love. That’s what I think. 🐨: I think that’s something I actually thought about a lot while I was in the military. You end up thinking a lot about the past, You miss everything. Something. 🐨: I miss civilian life, I miss ARMY, and I really miss the BTS members, and I miss the past. So, also now, since “Arirang” contains all the joys, angers, sorrows, and pleasures of life together, that kind of emotion felt like it could, in this album of ours. 🐨: As we’re putting out an album for the first time in a while, well, encompass our—what we’ve been through so far, the joys, angers, sorrows, and pleasures, and really tie together the music like that. 🐿️: But the thing that’s truly the most like us, that feels like our roots, and that we could show clearly in that way, I think that was “Arirang.” 🐰: Something that can tie it together— some kind of— 🐿️: Uh, I listened and I was like, oh, kind of like that. 🐨: We sang “Arirang” ten years ago, and at KCON Paris. 🐰: I saw that stage, on the channel. 🐿️: Wait a second, do you remember this? Athena talked to us about her rivalry with Asuka and said she would like to have one more match with her. “Oh, man. Like Asuka is one of those people, that’s a forever rival for me. Like when we were back on the indies, we actually ended up wrestling at Shimmer Women’s Wrestling. That’s where we met. We had one of the hardest hitting matches I think I’ve had in my career then, and then fast forward to WWE NXT for the NXT Women’s Championship. Asuka is my yin to my yang. I really hope she’s not stepping away. I’ve actually been trying to get a hold of her because I lost a whole bunch of people’s numbers when I switched my phone and everything. But man, talk about someone who’s just the epitome of what legendary status is or what a living legend is. I, to some extent, don’t feel like people really understand how much she’s done for wrestling as a whole. Like from grinding on the indies to being like an independent contractor in Japan to getting signed to WWE. Not only that, like just excelling in WWE in every form and facet from match to match, but never changing who she was as a person, a character. I couldn’t be more proud, more happy for her. I hate her in that same breath, of course. I also feel like I have to have one more match eventually and hope that this isn’t it. This isn’t the long goodbye, if you will. But like, Asuka’s one of those people that I wouldn’t be who I am as a performer, as an athlete, if she wasn’t in my life. If she wasn’t on the opposite side of the ring. I don’t think I would have gotten anything really if I didn’t have that experience with her."

This part breaks and heals my heart at the same time 💔Mingi’s words are full of wisdom, as always🥺 🐥 I was full of arrogance in the beginning, but after I made my debut, I felt so small. From then on, I lost a lot of my mental strength. As soon as I made my debut, I thought I was the best and I thought I was in first place. That’s why those aspirations, that tenacity, and that something about me - my self-worth - was so high. But after that, it was destroyed in an instant. 🐥 I lost a lot of my self-worth, and I started to feel like I was worth nothing. I started to doubt if there was any reason for me to be in this group. When I feel that kind of self-disgust, I think it’s important how I overcome those thoughts. In my early days of my debut, I think I only had a pretty packaging on me. I used to think, ‘I’m doing well, what more can I do?’ But after that pretty packaging came off, I had nothing inside. So I think it took me a long time to fill myself up. Now, even if I break down once in a while, I just go back to the human Song Mingi, and I look for the things I like one by one, and then I think, ‘People will like me a bit now, right?’ Since we’re celebrities, we need to satisfy the people to a certain degree. But I think we still have to satisfy ourselves in the process as well. So many Americans have to be feeling this same way “Why is no one talking about how serious the cost of living actually is? — My husband is working three jobs right now. We buy absolutely nothing, nothing that we don't need, and we actually go without a lot of things that we actually do need. I feel like if you're able to do anything that's not just surviving, then you got it good. I feel so sad that I didn't appreciate the times where we were able to actually have fun at this point. So much has changed in the past few years. Like, what? I just really, really want to know. How's everyone surviving? Is everyone working, like, 24/7? Because that's what my husband does, and I'm just home with my little kids all the time. It's kind of, like, depressing that we're never together as a family. So I don't know. I hope one day we can be, but it sucks.”

behind of yesterday’s tiktok ⭐️ 🐰 the ‘tree’ challenge that i did yesterday…i did it because i wanted to 🐰 as soon i saw it, i was like “i need to do this” it’s so funny 🐰 that’s actually not what i was going to film that day, it was supposed to be a sexy challenge but i’m not really good at those kind of challenges where you have to be like “look at my sexiness”, even with performances i prefer doing something that’s more light so i told them that there was something else i wanted to do instead of that one and they asked me what i wanted to do so i showed them the ‘tree’ challenge and said that that’s what i wanted to do 🐰 we actually save the ones that we’d like to do and bring it with us so we can show it to them 🐰 when i showed it to them, they loved it and were like the “let’s do this! let’s do it right away!” 🐰 i wasn’t going to film a challenge that day so it was a very sudden filming and i was wearing sandals…something like slippers with nothing covering my heels so they kept coming off my feet when i was doing the step 🐰 i think i filmed it about 5 times, i filmed it many times 🐰 “you should’ve done the sexy one” i mean…i can do it if i have to but i’m not good at it…doing something sexy on stage is fine but being like “wow look at me 😏” is not something i particularly like either 🐰 i like doing light performances and i think that’s what suits me as well 🐰 each person has something that suits them 🐰 yeonjun hyung & beomgyu are excessively coy when they’re on stage and they’re people that suit that kind of thing but i feel like i’m not someone that suits it 🐰 i think i suit light concepts better 🐰 i don’t know about suiting because everyone will have a different opinion but i personally like that better!

⭐️: What am I into these days? These days? These days, I kind of just… I think I’m living in a sort of "no‑thoughts" state. I don’t really have emotional ups and downs, just… I'm calm. I kind of, I don’t really know my feelings these days. It’s not like my emotions are going up and down a lot or anything, but then, when I met a friend of mine and we talked I realized I actually have more worries than I thought. But I also wonder if I just didn’t have the space to talk about them. So, on one hand... I don’t know if I have a lot of worries or if I just don’t have thoughts. With work, work is busy too but sometimes I even wonder if I’m actually busy. Because when you do so many schedules… you don’t really feel it. Like, maybe I am really busy but I just can’t feel it. No, It’s not a slump. It’s pretty far from a slump. A slump is when work doesn’t go well and doing things feels hard, but I’m not like that. When I work, it’s fun and exciting, I just don’t really have emotional highs and lows. So I wonder if maybe this is actually a good thing?That’s how it is. I don’t think you need to worry about this, but actually, I did have a lot of worries and concerns… I just didn’t realize I was worrying about them? Yeah. "Maybe it’s because you haven’t had much time to take care of yourself?" No, but I think I’m actually the type who takes care of myself pretty well. Ah, recently I’ve been going to the sauna alone pretty often and I’ve had some time to think while doing that. Sergey Brin on AI and Jeff Dean back in December when Gemini peaked: “I would say in some ways we for sure messed up in that we underinvested and sort of didn't take it as seriously as we should have, say, eight years ago when we published the Transformer paper. We actually didn't take it all that seriously and didn't necessarily invest in scaling the compute. And also we were too scared to bring it to people because chatbots say dumb things. And, you know, OpenAI ran with it, which is good for them. It was a super smart insight, and it was also our people like Ilya who went there to do that. But I do think we still have benefited from that long history. So we had a lot of the research and development of neural networks kind of going back to Google Brain. That was also kind of lucky. It wasn't luck that we hired Jeff Dean. I mean, we were lucky to get him. But we were in this sort of mindset that deep technical things matter. And so we hired him. We hired a lot of people from DEC, honestly, because they had the top research labs at the time. But he [Jeff Dean] was passionate about neural networks. And it stemmed, I think, from actually his college experiment. I don't know. He was like, whatever, curing third world disease and figuring out neural networks when he was like 16. He's done crazy things. But he was passionate about it. He built up a whole effort. And actually in my division at the time in Google X. We had him but I didn't I was like okay Jeff you do whatever you want. He's like oh we can tell cats from dogs. I'm like oh okay cool. But you know, you also trust your technical people and soon enough they were developing all these algorithms these neural nets that were doing some of our search. And then, you know, Noam came up with a transformer and we were able to do more and more. But yeah, I mean, so we had the underpinnings, we had the R&D.
