These transit options have been available all along and people have asked why implement congestion pricing but it took a financial charge to get people to make the switch.

Also bringing more riders into the subway can help improve safety as more bystanders can deter crimes/attacks from happening.

Journalists should also follow up and ask about the benefits commuters are seeing going car-free (less hassle, expense, time to do other things, etc)

Sounds like a plan!

The emergency vehicle point is an understated one

So, the Democratic “party of the working class” has imposed what amounts to a tax on normal people. It will clear the streets of the working class to make room for the elites. When is the next election?

Yay hooray! We’re forcing others to submit under our will!

After living in Tokyo for 4 years and now NYC for the last 9 months, I’ve been waiting for this to finally happen. So many benefits

The whole point of a tax like this is obviously behavior modification.
Yes, because if there are two things poor people need more of it is inconvenience and expenses.

Just another tax that directly affects the working class. When you are in the upper class $50/day in tolls is nothing, but to a middle class family it is enough to cause people to not eat, not get their medication. All so the rich and Uber can drive without the peasants clogging up the roads. Ride bikes and be happy
