Yesterday, at different times of the day, I directed enforcement and clean-up operations across the state to address persistent street trading and environmental infractions. Our Environmental Task Force intervened at Ogudu Road by Ojota Junction, Iyana-Ipaja Under Bridge, and Egbeda Junction, where traders had encroached on the road, obstructing traffic and compromising public safety. During the operations, goods and wares were seized, and 15 offenders were arrested. All suspects will be arraigned in court, and the seized items will be forfeited to the State in line with existing laws. On Thursday. 2nd May, 2025 at about 2.30a.m, the men from the Lagos State Environmental Taskforce team embarked on its clean up enforcement operation at Ikeja and its environs to rid the State of criminal elements. The areas visited during the operation includes; LASUTH under-bridge, Ikeja under-bridge, Ipodo Street and other adjoining areas within Ikeja where the presence of some undesirable elements was noticed. During the raid exercise, one of the miscreants arrested and locked in Taskforce vehicle, stole monies belonging to another Suspect in the vehicle. A total number of 42 male and 5 female suspects were arrested, and sanity was restored in all the areas. In continuation of the agency's clean up enforcement operation to rid the State of criminal elements, the Lagos State Environmental Taskforce set out at about 0020hrs on 10th January, 2026, and embarked on its ongoing clean up enforcement operation on the Mainland area of the State. The team observed the entire road, along Akowonjo by Cele busstop has been converted to beer parlor, drug peddling at different level taking place and presence of criminal elements. During the clean up operation, the team ensured the entire area was completely cleared of violation of the State environmental laws and ward off criminal activities. All chairs and tables and other items spread all over the road, preventing free flow of traffic were all seized. During the operation, 56 suspects were arrested and will be arraigned in court as soon as possible. #ZeroToleranceLagos

During the operation, 75 suspects were arrested, comprising 68 males and 7 females. Substances suspected to be illicit drugs were recovered at the scene. In the course of the exercise, one of our officers, Inspector Omosanjo Mohamed, was violently attacked by hoodlums and sustained a serious head injury. He is currently receiving medical treatment. The suspect utilized a Mercedes Benz ML 350 with plate number SMK 313 GT to transport and dispose of the waste. During questioning by the LAWMA monitoring team, Mr. Chuks claimed that he regularly pays for waste collection services through his Private Sector Participant (PSP).
