Yesterday evening Darren Jones apologised for his comments comparing Personal Independence Payments received by disabled people with kids getting pocket money. A couple of hours earlier Rachel Reeves backed the comparison.

Yes and sick people who cannot work are going to be worse off because they will still be too sick to work no matter how much money you take off them. What is it about this that the Gov cannot grasp?

The supposed reasons she gives are illogical. She says many people want to work, so the answer is to to give them more support & pressurise employers to improve the workplace, not cut their money push them into poverty to try to force them to get an unsuitable job.

If there are lots of disabled people who want to work (this is probably true) why not just facilitate that? How does cutting their money contribute to that?
