Yesterday, Governor DeSantis released a congressional map that violates Florida’s Fair Districts Amendment to give Republicans more seats. If he thought it was right, he’d let the voters decide. It’s illegal — and it should be struck down.

🚨 JUST IN: Florida’s new Congressional map, which would add FOUR Republican seats to the US House, has been revealed, per Fox It’s on track to go into effect prior to the 2026 midterm elections Gov. DeSantis says Florida got “SHORTCHANGED” in the 2020 census, and this map restores fair representation in Florida “Drawing maps based on race, which is reflected in our current congressional districts, is unconstitutional and should be prohibited,” DeSantis said The current make-up is 20 Republican seats and 8 Democrat seats (one is vacant). Four of those Democrat seats are expected to flip.

Yesterday 38 Republicans killed a bill in the Senate to give women the right to contraception. Republicans are attempting to argue that it should be left up to the states to decide, not the federal government. Remember when Republicans wanted the federal government to outlaw same-sex marriage? Remember when many republicans wanted the federal government to ban internet gambling? Recall how many Republicans support federal prohibition on marijuana? So why was it OK for the Federal government to ban gambling, marijuana, and same-sex marriage, but when it comes to women having a right to contraception (birth control) it should be left to the states to decide? Hypocrisy?

So he’s ordered Texas Republicans to target at least five districts held by Democrats in the state. The current map in Texas is already illegal—it already violates the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
