Encampments should never be next to our homes, schools, or playgrounds. Yesterday, I joined residents in Encino to tour several homeless encampments around the Sepulveda Basin. I listened to their concerns and witnessed firsthand the frustration and neglect they’ve experienced from our city officials. We must do more to provide those in need with the right care, resources, and support to help them get off the streets. Nowhere in Los Angeles should conditions like this be allowed. It’s time to do better.
