Kulsuma Akter was killed in broad daylight as she pushed her pram. There is an epidemic of violence against women & girls yet time & again we hear the same awful stories and too little is done. Enough. Labour is setting a mission to halve violence against women in a decade. /1

Under Labour, sexual assault and harassment have reached a crisis point in Manchester. Every night, vulnerable women and girls are targeted by predators. This has to stop. This is what I’ll do to take back our streets and combat sexual violence against women and girls.

No matter the language, the message is clear: #StopTheViolence. We UNITE to stand against violence. With the EU’s first law against violence on women and domestic violence, we’ve taken a historic step—but the fight continues. For a safer future for all.
