YESTERDAY in WHITWORTH: A fully grown man chases down & attacks a primary school child for simply knocking on his door & running away. He later threatened other adults & children to stab them. Police had been called but the suspect had done a runner.

The problem with kids spending the day harassing people is they will eventually find someone that will respond. For some elderly people gangs of kids can be incredible stressful.

Oddly, that slap might be a life changing event that steers the kids life in a positive way. I taught my son to stay out of peoples yards. We live in Texas and last thing you want is someone freaked out that you are on their property doing mischief.

Back in '87 or '88, we would always knock the door of a bloke known as Dai Peanut (Peanut coz his head was tiny). He proper lost his shit one evening, came running out of his house with a knife, waving it around as we rode off on our bikes. He came back out, got in his car and spent ages trying to find us, eventually catching one of the boys. He dragged him off his bike, gave him a few slaps, and threw the bike in the back of his car before driving off. My mate went home crying, told his dad, and he went to Peanut's house to get the bike back... He got the bike back, and after finding out why it had been taken, proceeded to give my mate another hiding for being an annoying little twat. True story.

Smacking the kid is probably too much, but we had kids kicking our door so hard it terrified our own small children inside, and at that moment in time, I felt this man's rage.
