@TheJockeyClub @AintreeRaces @WillHillRacing @WilliamHill @NevinTruesdale I would have personally gone for “we used to burn witches at the stake” as opposed to “we used to hang people in the street” but I take your point

@TheJockeyClub @AintreeRaces @WillHillRacing @WilliamHill @NevinTruesdale Cant disagree with you it was all nicey nicey but you cant build it up anymore as this big massive grand event, its just a basic long distance chase with poor value from a betting point of view. If we are moving with the times it has to be shelved down the pecking order now

@TheJockeyClub @AintreeRaces @WillHillRacing @WilliamHill @NevinTruesdale Must wholeheartedly disagree Leonna. It isn't the spectacle it once was and not bet on the race last few years. I found it quite boring actually. If we're going to be moving with the times as you put it can leave me out of it. I find so much sport dull as dishwater now. x x

@TheJockeyClub @AintreeRaces @WillHillRacing @WilliamHill @NevinTruesdale I would give you odds on that a majority of Brits want to bring back the death penalty. So not sure what the point is there re move with the times?

@TheJockeyClub @AintreeRaces @WillHillRacing @WilliamHill @NevinTruesdale ”moving with the times” will see horse racing abolished completely in the next decade or so

@TheJockeyClub @AintreeRaces @WillHillRacing @WilliamHill @NevinTruesdale The hanging in the streets would be a welcome return for some!

@TheJockeyClub @AintreeRaces @WillHillRacing @WilliamHill @NevinTruesdale I'm glad it was a safe race. It has to be otherwise it's days are number, and it's a race I'll always defend and love. At the moment, though, the smaller trainers will struggle to ever have a runner in it, so the story element which sells it could be in danger of disappearing

@TheJockeyClub @AintreeRaces @WillHillRacing @WilliamHill @NevinTruesdale It’s been sanitised to the point that it is no longer unique or special

@TheJockeyClub @AintreeRaces @WillHillRacing @WilliamHill @NevinTruesdale Totally agree. 4 miles & 30 fences of any height & difficulty is sufficient - demonstrated as not all horses actually completed. The small compromises resulted in significant improvement in horse & jockey welfare
