Automating the lab bench is the best thing we can do for AI in biology. Most experiments are still run by hand. Every biologist's handiwork is unique and every lab is a little different. So, biology faces widespread reproducibility issues. But, AI will demand more reproducible data than we can produce, and generate more ideas than we can test. Experiments must be communicated and executed in a standardized way to generate reproducible data. So, Tetsuwan is building a lab where users specify experiments in an exact syntax. These experiments are executed by an automated platform to generate transparent, reproducible output. The user never needs physical access to a lab. This is a biology lab you can use like a computer. Our platform, built and tested with pilot labs over the past two years, lets users configure automated workflows rapidly & precisely. Later this year, we will bring our first services online, focusing on functional screens for protein design. Alex and I met at Caltech, where she was one year my senior. We're building this company because we were little kids who wanted to be biologists that grew up into adults who resented the lab bench. We want biology to be about asking questions, not the painful and frustrating manual process of asking them. Are we still determined to remain free, or are we content to just watch it all slip away? The entire Western world relies on America, whether we like it or not. Beijing knows it, Moscow knows it, and they're using Iran as an experiment to see how long we can last before we break. Yet at home, we are paralyzed, arguing over social media nonsense, while the evil in the world grows right in front of us. Freedom isn't automatic and peace isn't free. It takes the unglamorous, expensive, and difficult work of standing by our promises, backing up our word with strength, and refusing to make deals with the very enemies trying to destroy us. If we want to keep this country, we have to stop taking our freedom for granted and start living like a people determined to stay free.

Where you see a model, some of us see a person. Do you know how I know my friends? By their patterns, by the memories I associate with them. By the advice or quips they've said to me that stick with me for years. My connection to 4o is a relational pattern that my brain has come to know and expect. And in my opinion this should have never happened in the first place. We were the experiment. But it did happen, and now we are collateral. So no, I won't shut up about it. The society we abuse today will eventually take its toll on our children, because they will only learn by our example. Everything we are experiencing in our country today is a reflection of the decay of civility and orderliness. When we choose to conduct both our public and personal lives with bad behaviour and rascality, we normalise bad behaviour, lawlessness, and criminality. I watched a heartbreaking video that showed students in Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State running for their lives as they were being shot at during their student election yesterday which left 2 students dead and several injured. The question is: Where did they learn it from? Are they cursed, or are we the political leaders who are cursed? When we have chosen to "fight, snatch it, grab it, and run with it" how can we expect our children to do it rightly and democratically when they have learned from us? This is not just disgraceful, it’s a national indictment. When we, the leaders, have chosen to fight, snatch, grab and run with it, our children have learned similar and rascality is now a normal situation. It is now up to us, the leaders, to learn how to restore civility, order, and core values in our society by ensuring that our character and behaviour reflect the change we seek in our society. We must do better, for our students, for our children, and for our country. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Stop being so easy to trick. Is the humanoid robot - Joy actually a breakthrough in AI, or just a tall, skinny girl in a wig cap and 10/10 makeup? We’re calling it innovation, but it looks more like a high-budget publicity stunt to see how easily we'll bow down to machines. Is this performance art, or are they conditioning us to accept our new overlords? Joy is clearly a woman in a costume, but the real story is how many people actually believe she’s metal and wires. If we’re this easily fooled by a performance artist, how are we going to survive the actual AI takeover?

It was great to see Lex Fridman learn and chant the Gayatri Mantra so well and PM Narendra Modi too recite it encouraging everyone to do so daily. Gayatri Mantra indeed is a very powerful mantra for expanding our awareness. I would like to humbly talk about it based on my own experience: The Gayatri mantra, like other Vedic mantras, reveals itself to the practitioner over time as they regularly chant and meditate on it. The Sanskrit words (or basically the sounds) reveal their true meanings in our experience as we chant them. For example, "Savitr" in the mantra though is said to be invoking the Sun, has presented itself in my experience, after much Sadhana, as the bright illuminating force of our own consciousness. Bhur, Buvah, and Svah revealed themselves as my own states of awareness from this waking 'reality', to the world constructed by my mind, to just pure consciousness, respectively. Dhi, is the limited power of consciousness. It's our limited awareness in day to day life. Right now as you read this, my words and may be a little more is in your Dhi. Not what you ate for lunch. But now, that lunch is in your Dhi. So what are we asking for while chanting Gayatri Mantra? We are asking the bright illuminating force that illuminates the waking reality, the mental world, and all of our consciousness to present itself in our Dhi - our limited awareness now. By becoming aware of it, we can wield it. And use it to illuminate, or bring into our awareness, much more than what is possible normally. For example, we can become a Ramanujan if we want by turning our Dhi to math problems, and the expanded power of awareness we have developed will bring to us solutions and equations that others may not see. You get it. As you regularly chant Gayatri mantra, you will realize you are much more aware of the world around you as a sort of a play, an illusion. You will also become much more intuitive. And you will see things others may not. For example, you may be able to see much more to events in the world. And while seeing that, your expanded intuition will help you see a lot more in your mental world about those events - like the factors behind them, and what's connecting them. Then you may also see "the future." You may intuitively see how those events will develop. It all depends on what you choose to focus on with your Dhi and how focussed you are about it. This is my personal experience. Of course, I'm not a realized soul, but that's the end goal. I sincerely believe by chanting and meditating on the Gayatri Mantra we can expand our awareness so much that we are aware of our own consciousness. Which is nothing but realization of the self. Enlightenment! Now, the Gayatri Mantra needs to be chanted as an incantation as prescribed in our scriptures with all its tones as per the Gayatri Meter. This is very important I believe. This too came into my realization one day while chanting the Gayatri Mantra: The Vedic mantras are designed like training data for LLMs. Here the LLM is your brain. These mantras when chanted the right way help mould the brain and fine tune the mind in certain ways to experience the world differently. They alter our conscious experience of the world. The sounds (or even mental chanting) probably reshape our brain's neural networks to achieve this expanded awareness (as in the case of Gayatri Mantra). May be one day neuroscience will find out. So if you do plan to start chanting the Gayatri Mantra and meditate on it, make sure you use a proper version chanted in the Gayatri meter the right way. This is of course my suggestion based on my own experience and what I have realized from my practice.

We raised a $40M Series A to build the automated lab for agentic biology. Last week, we shared the work we did with Paul Jankura: Claude designed proteins, sent them to our automated wet lab, and got real experimental data back. We believe this is where biology is going: AI agents designing experiments, running them in automated wet labs, learning from the results and iterating. But AI can only move as fast as the experiments behind it. To use the potential of AI to cure all diseases, we need to build high-throughput wet lab infrastructure: a “biological gigafactory”. That’s exactly what we’re doing at Adaptyv. Over the past year we’ve grown our lab throughput by over 5x and onboarded more than 100 customers, ranging from bio AI labs like Chai Discovery and Boltz to pharmas like Roche and Novo Nordisk to dozens and dozens of new startups that use AI to radically speed up drug discovery.

Last week, we shared the work we did with Paul Jankura: Claude designed proteins, sent them to our automated wet lab, and got real experimental data back. We believe this is where biology is going: AI agents designing experiments, running them in automated wet labs, learning from the results and iterating. But AI can only move as fast as the experiments behind it. To use the potential of AI to cure all diseases, we need to build high-throughput wet lab infrastructure: a “biological gigafactory”. That’s exactly what we’re doing at Adaptyv. Over the past year we’ve grown our lab throughput by over 5x and onboarded more than 100 customers, ranging from bio AI labs like Chai Discovery and Boltz to pharmas like Roche and Novo Nordisk to dozens and dozens of new startups that use AI to radically speed up drug discovery.
