Yesterday we learned the Met cannot stop suspended officers getting promotions because it's "racist". But the Equality Act is doing even more damage than that. The Treasury can’t test job applicants for maths because it had an “adverse impact” on ethnic minorities.

The Equality Act encourages diversity drives which have led to dangerous lowering of recruitment standards in public bodies. Just take the Met Police. Last month, it emerged that the Met had hired a suspected child rapist who had failed vetting, through a diversity scheme. In 2023 the police inspectorate found that having lowered literacy and maths standards as part of a diversity drive, the Met had serving officers who were “functionally illiterate”. And like many forces, the Met has significantly lowered its fitness requirement, principally to allow more women into the force. Now just 3.7 on the beep test or around 3.5 minutes of jogging, it is among the easiest in the world. We should be hiring on merit and competence, not skin colour. Scrap the Equality Act and its damaging Public Sector Equality Duty. Me on BBCSundayMorningLive.

If the technology we're seeing now has been around for longer than we know, then why are we getting access to it now? My guess is that it's because in 2016, humanity (whether knowingly or not) collectively had shown that it learned it's lesson and proven its readiness to handle the "AI revolution" without self destructing again.

Democrats are still trying to convince us that requiring an ID to vote is “racist” because minorities can’t get ID. You know what’s actually offensive? Assuming certain Americans are incapable of getting an ID based on the color of their skin. Even if it is true, then here’s a thought: GET THEM ID’s! Most Americans already have the identification required to live, work, drive, travel, and participate in everyday life.
