It kicks off at 1.00pm in Colchester & moves to Braintree 20 minutes down the road at 6.00pm. The protests are in the town centres, not at the camp. Pro-migrant, anti-British Runnymede Trust & Care4Calais complain at "harrowing conditions" in the camp. In 2024 it had "1184 people seeking asylum who Care4Calais are currently providing services for, all are from a West Asian or African nationality. 91 (27.8%) are from Iran, 71 (21.7%) from Afghanistan, 32 (9.8%) from Eritrea". I visited the Falkirk Asylum Hotel this weekend to support Cllr Claire Mackie-Brown and listen to the concerns of locals - what I learned was shocking. One resident of the hotel has been jailed for rape of a child, another has been charged with performing sexual acts from the hotel window, and 3 others have been reported for sexual assault. A hundred local residents peacefully protested outside the hotel, across from masked non-residents of Falkirk who had arrived by train to protest for more bogus asylum seekers. Only Reform UK Scotland are listening to the people and have a plan to end this madness.
