There is a video going around of a man 'prophesying in great detail' about the assasination attempt on Trump's life, but this is not something we should marvel at. Instead, this whole video is nonsense. So who is this "prophet?" Brandon Biggs has a YT channel where he spends much of his time recounting visions and prophetic dreams the Lord is giving him, sharing hundreds of prophecies that he believes he is being shown, most involving the destruction of the United States and upcoming doom and pestilence. These include: the Lord showing him an upcoming massive EMP attack on America from "Oriental people" using missiles from the "USSR" that take out half the midwest, that Italy will have a massive volcano eruption that will cause major devastation, that there will soon be another plague that will kill 350,000,000 people, that there will be a major earthquake that results in helicopters having to fly in food for hundreds of cities across America because all the bridges will collapse across the country. He's described in vivid detail the upcoming start of WW3, regaling his audience of all the details of how that will begin, and notably has previously falsely prophecied a major crash of the economy in 2013, urging everyone to buy rations and supplies, which resulted in anyone who believed him suffering financial hardships. In fact, he had to personally call up everyone he falsely prophecied to say 'sorry,' and was subsequently forbidden by one pastor from ever prophesying in their church again. He also falsely prophecied around this time that silver would go to $100/oz and that the Iraqi Dinars would skyrocket (also urging everyone to invest in it, even though it tanked and they again all lost their shirts) Furthermore, 28 second sound clips are fun, but let's look at the whole conversation to see what else he's saying. Immediate; prior to the prophecy, Biggs says that the upcoming passover will accelerate politics, war, etc, and there will be record-breaking temperatures, including the largest tornadoes we have ever seen in history, 150MPH microburst winds, lasting into the Fall season. We'll be looking for these. As it pertains to prophecies about assassination attempts on the President, the bar is really low. The prediction that someone might try to take out one of the most hated men in America, one who gets compared to Hitler on a regular basis and has the entire forces of the mainstream media against him, driving the narrative that he must be stopped at all cost...is basically par for the course. Notably, this quote from Tucker Carlson in 2023 is also obviously "prophetic" "If you begin with criticism, then you go to protest, then you go to impeachment, now you go to indictment and none of them work. What's next? Graph it out, man. We're speeding towards assassination, obviously. … They have decided — permanent Washington, both parties have decided — that there's something about Trump that's so threatening to them, they just can't have him." But if someone were to speculate/ predict about how Trump might be assassinated, it's reasonable to assume the method wouldn't be with a vial of poison or a knife attack, but a gun. Furthermore, Biggs makes it sound like the bullet will bust his eardrum because it misses his head. Instead, we see the bullet actually hit him, with no indication that his eardrum is burst. Biggs claims that in this moment, Trump fell to his knees and was "worshipping the lord" and was "radically born again." While we hope this occurs, there is no evidence or indication that this occured at all. Of course we've seen the pic ofTrump on his knees with his hands in front of him, which is a reasonable position to be in when a ton of Secret Service agents just tackled you and are piled on top of you. Immediately after the clip ends, however, what these people didn't include, is that Biggs claims once Trump takes power, there will be a great economic crash during Trump's term "worse than the Great Depression," which saw almost 25% unemployment rates and those who didn't lose their jobs see their wages cut in half. Biggs says that Trump and his advisors pray and intercede for America, which at that point the financial crisis will be lifted. In short, a noted and documented false prophet who routinely shares hundreds of prophecies and revelations from God, amassing quite the collection that he can point to go and say "see, see!," pointed out that someone would try to assasinate Trump but fail in the most commonly and predictable way ever if one is going to fail in an assassination attempt, gets a key detail wrong, and then in his next breath says America will, in the next four years, suffer an economic collapse worse than the Great Depression. Sorry continuationists, but this is not the W many of you are touting it to be:

In fact, he had to personally call up everyone he falsely prophecied to say 'sorry,' and was subsequently forbidden by one pastor from ever prophesying in their church again. He also falsely prophecied around this time that silver would go to $100/oz and that the Iraqi Dinars would skyrocket (also urging everyone to invest in it, even though it tanked and they again all lost their shirts) Furthermore, 28 second sound clips are fun, but let's look at the whole conversation to see what else he's saying. Immediate; prior to the prophecy, Biggs says that the upcoming passover will accelerate politics, war, etc, and there will be record-breaking temperatures, including the largest tornadoes we have ever seen in history, 150MPH microburst winds, lasting into the Fall season. We'll be looking for these. As it pertains to prophecies about assassination attempts on the President, the bar is really low. The prediction that someone might try to take out one of the most hated men in America, one who gets compared to Hitler on a regular basis and has the entire forces of the mainstream media against him, driving the narrative that he must be stopped at all cost...is basically par for the course. Notably, this quote from Tucker Carlson in 2023 is also obviously "prophetic" "If you begin with criticism, then you go to protest, then you go to impeachment, now you go to indictment and none of them work. We're speeding towards assassination, obviously. … They have decided — permanent Washington, both parties have decided — that there's something about Trump that's so threatening to them, they just can't have him." But if someone were to speculate/ predict about how Trump might be assassinated, it's reasonable to assume the method wouldn't be with a vial of poison or a knife attack, but a gun. Furthermore, Biggs makes it sound like the bullet will bust his eardrum because it misses his head. Instead, we see the bullet actually hit him, with no indication that his eardrum is burst. Biggs claims that in this moment, Trump fell to his knees and was "worshipping the lord" and was "radically born again." While we hope this occurs, there is no evidence or indication that this occured at all. Of course we've seen the pic ofTrump on his knees with his hands in front of him, which is a reasonable position to be in when a ton of Secret Service agents just tackled you and are piled on top of you. Immediately after the clip ends, however, what these people didn't include, is that Biggs claims once Trump takes power, there will be a great economic crash during Trump's term "worse than the Great Depression," which saw almost 25% unemployment rates and those who didn't lose their jobs see their wages cut in half. Biggs says that Trump and his advisors pray and intercede for America, which at that point the financial crisis will be lifted. In short, a noted and documented false prophet who routinely shares hundreds of prophecies and revelations from God, amassing quite the collection that he can point to go and say "see, see!," pointed out that someone would try to assasinate Trump but fail in the most commonly and predictable way ever if one is going to fail in an assassination attempt, gets a key detail wrong, and then in his next breath says America will, in the next four years, suffer an economic collapse worse than the Great Depression. Some Big Numbers To Get Excited About Regular readers will know I often write of frustration at not moving fast enough. This mission I am on is really hard and sometimes it can seem impossibly big when I am down in the weeds dealing with dog issues on a daily basis. I have to say though that writing this tonight and looking through some numbers I feel for the first time that I am starting to make some large scale progress… A Second Island 🌴🥥 I live and help the dogs on the island of Koh Samui. There is an island of equal size called Koh Phangan just across the water. You probably have heard of it as the home of the world famous Full Moon Party. They have a similar problem with street dogs. Since the the 1st May I have starting funding a wonderful foundation called PACS to sterilise dogs there. They are starting with 50 this month. This is going to stop 1000s of future puppies. A big step. 90,000 Meals Served in 2023 So Far 🥘👨‍🍳 The cooking never stops. The dogs are all starting to benefit from a consistent and healthy meal per day. All the food is prepared in a central kitchen and handed out to volunteers to feed their dogs. With 5000 meals served per week around the island it blows my mind that soon we will serve the 100,000th wholesome plate of food in 2023. It wasn’t that long ago I was driving around on my moped with a 10kg bag of dry food feeding a paltry 20 dogs per day on my own. 7 Puppies Re-Homed 🐶🏠 In the last couple of weeks there have been 25-30 puppies show up. It can be incredibly tough to find them homes but thanks to a great Thai lady I have been able to get 7 into their forever homes around the country. It has involved a lot of vet visits, 1000kms of travel and lots of expense but that is 7 dogs who have a future now who wouldn’t have made it otherwise. 2 Miracles For Lady 🙏😊 The first miracle for Lady was the fact that she got off the street and was able to start walking a little again despite her two broken hips. We’ve been getting her a lot of treatment and she is thriving. Her 2nd miracle was when a lovely newly retired gentleman called Jamie spotted her and offered Lady a forever home to live out her life right here on the island. Nobody usually wants old and sick dogs so this incredibly selfless act is the huge slice of luck that Lady deserved after all the suffering she has endured. Last week she was well enough to be sterilised so as she never has to have another puppy in her life again. It might seem like a small footnote in the bigger scheme of things but it was a moment of closure for this wonderful lady who has suffered so much. She can now just focus on being a dog for for the first time in her life and sharing all the love she has to give. Tina was the 521st dog I have sterilised since starting. King Whacker Of Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿✈️ Whacker is a very special dog who was one of the first arrivals back in November. Someone had tried to kill him with a pick axe. After recovering he turned into a true gent and is the big boss at the land. I promised he would never have to go back on the streets and this week after a process to find him the right home he got the news that he will be heading to Glasgow. Long live Whacker, the King of Scotland. 125 Dogs To Be Sterilised In May ✂️🐕 I spoke about how abstract sterilising can be for many people to understand but it is what will save the most dogs from suffering. In all of 2022 I was able to do 302 dogs. In the month of May alone I have a minimum target to fund 125. In June I hope to take that to 250 dogs for the month. Not easy and very expensive but I’m putting the groundwork in place to scale this up. Nothing is more important. Little Rodney was in getting the snip last week as one of the dogs this month. 7 European Dogs 🇪🇺🛫 By the end of June there will be 7 dogs who have traveled to Europe. Lottie, Hope, King Whacker, Rodney and Moritz will join Little Squeak and Peaches who just arrived in Germany. I can’t explain how hard it is to figure all this stuff out and get the processes in place. I’m focusing on Europe now as it is the easiest for travel and paperwork but the rest of the world will happen soon too. It’s only 7 dogs but seeing them in their homes or about to travel makes me so happy and proud for them all. Progress The suffering I see on a daily basis for street dogs means that I am never really happy with the speed and progress of my mission. I just want to help them all immediately but that isn’t possible. Having said that, reading this update and knowing what else is coming in the pipeline makes me feel that I am making genuine progress. Between food, funding sterilisations, medical care and re-homing dogs I can genuinely now say I’m helping 100s of dogs per month but also stopping the suffering of 1000s in the future. As I always say I could never do any of this without the online support and good wishes of everybody on the mission with me. I don’t feel like I am alone doing this. Some Big Numbers To Get Excited About Regular readers will know I often write of frustration at not moving fast enough. This mission I am on is really hard and sometimes it can seem impossibly big when I am down in the weeds dealing with dog issues on a daily basis. I have to say though that writing this tonight and looking through some numbers I feel for the first time that I am starting to make some large scale progress… A Second Island 🌴🥥 I live and help the dogs on the island of Koh Samui. There is an island of equal size called Koh Phangan just across the water. You probably have heard of it as the home of the world famous Full Moon Party. They have a similar problem with street dogs. Since the the 1st May I have starting funding a wonderful foundation called PACS to sterilise dogs there. They are starting with 50 this month. This is going to stop 1000s of future puppies. A big step. 90,000 Meals Served in 2023 So Far 🥘👨‍🍳 The cooking never stops. The dogs are all starting to benefit from a consistent and healthy meal per day. All the food is prepared in a central kitchen and handed out to volunteers to feed their dogs. With 5000 meals served per week around the island it blows my mind that soon we will serve the 100,000th wholesome plate of food in 2023. It wasn’t that long ago I was driving around on my moped with a 10kg bag of dry food feeding a paltry 20 dogs per day on my own. 7 Puppies Re-Homed 🐶🏠 In the last couple of weeks there have been 25-30 puppies show up. It can be incredibly tough to find them homes but thanks to a great Thai lady I have been able to get 7 into their forever homes around the country. It has involved a lot of vet visits, 1000kms of travel and lots of expense but that is 7 dogs who have a future now who wouldn’t have made it otherwise. 2 Miracles For Lady 🙏😊 The first miracle for Lady was the fact that she got off the street and was able to start walking a little again despite her two broken hips. We’ve been getting her a lot of treatment and she is thriving. Her 2nd miracle was when a lovely newly retired gentleman called Jamie spotted her and offered Lady a forever home to live out her life right here on the island. Nobody usually wants old and sick dogs so this incredibly selfless act is the huge slice of luck that Lady deserved after all the suffering she has endured. Caleb Durbin immediately jumps off the page as yet another breakout candidate acquired by Boston this offseason. On the surface, Durbin's production isn't necessarily eye-popping. As a rookie in '25: ⚾️ .721 OPS ⚾️ 6% BB / 10% K ⚾️ .312 xwOBA ⚾️ 105 wRC+ ⚾️ 2.6 fWAR So, what stands out regarding Durbin? I. Elite Swing Decisions & Whiff-Ability. Facing major league pitching for the first time in his career, Durbin registered the 5th-best K% (10%) in MLB last year. His 94% zCon rate (T-5th in MLB) is also elite. Durbin's whiff% and chase% also ranked inside the 95th percentile (or better). We're talking about a bat with some similar contact traits like we see in Jacob Wilson, for example, but with far less chase and a bit more pullside thump. He squares up the ball well (33% — 95th PCTL) and pairs that ability with taking a steady amount of walks. Point blank, the 25-year-old is a demon at limiting whiff. II. Power Surge? It's All in the Pull Air%. A gigantic reason it's so easy to pencil Durbin in as a breakout candidate is his fantastic park fit at Fenway. As a rookie, Durbin turned in an above-average 41% pull rate, plus an even-better 20% pull air rate. Utilizing that approach with a big target in left field will work wonders for his OPS. I don't expect Durbin to mash 20+ HR out of nowhere, but I'd certainly bank on seeing a number of flyouts simply turn into doubles or homers at home. III. Quality Defense. Breslow talked a lot about upgrading defense, and this move certainly does that. I've been very vocal since the start of the offseason that Mayer at 2B, not 3B, would be my preference for a multitude of reasons. Durbin (who can play all over the infield), enters the building as a plus defender at 3B. As a rookie, Durbin turned in 2 OAA, 5 DRS, 5 rPM, and 1 FRV at the hot corner. Sliding Mayer over to second base allows for easier platoon management with Romy Gonzalez — who saw an increase in his defensive production at 2B a year ago — and yes, is an upgrade over Alex Bregman's 1 DRS in 2025. IV. Handling Velo. Something that shouldn't get overlooked is Durbin's ability to handle velocity — a department the Red Sox obviously needed to upgrade in after last season. In '25 vs. FA-types 94+ mph: ⚾️ .258 BA → .275 xBA ⚾️ .350 SLG → .375 xSLG ⚾️ .319 wOBA → .337 xwOBA ⚾️ 8% whiff rate — — — Overall, I'm really ecstatic about the Durbin acquisition. This is FAR better than signing Suarez and calling it a day, imo. Can't forget Durbin is a guy the Red Sox have under team control for a while now (2032 UFA!). Utilizing Harrison — who's name has been yanked around between trade talks or a move to the bullpen — is a great piece of business. The comp pick is also massive, but we'll talk more about that soon. I think at his best, Durbin could lead off for the Red Sox by the end of '26. A legit breakout candidate and bag stealing threat with a high floor thanks to limited swing-and-miss and good defense. Sliding Mayer over to second base allows for easier platoon management with Romy Gonzalez — who saw an increase in his defensive production at 2B a year ago — and yes, is an upgrade over Alex Bregman's 1 DRS in 2025. IV. Handling Velo. Something that shouldn't get overlooked is Durbin's ability to handle velocity — a department the Red Sox obviously needed to upgrade in after last season. A teeny tiny notice before I proceed with my analysis. If you have a problem with either Cihan or Alya, don't bother reading. Because I don't take sides. I don't watch or think or write through the lens of Alya vs Cihan. Both characters are dear to me. And, if that's the way you roll, by all means, proceed. Analyzing Episode 36. Season 2 aka Of Strengths, Weaknesses, and The Last Nail in the Coffin Evvveeettt. Another episode, another meltdown. Just another day in the CihAl fandom. Ngl, it took me two days to even think about writing my regular analysis post, because the negativity was more potent than usual. Or maybe my resistance is waning, who knows? But that's not what we're gonna focus on today. This day, we analyze the words and actions of the heart and soul of Uzak Sehir, aka Alya and Cihan Albora. But we'll do so within the framework of strengths and weaknesses, because to me, that's what really comes to the fore in ep36. Alya Albora Alya Albora was especially heartbreaking this episode. And coming from someone who gets their heartbroken regularly because of Alya, that's saying something. The episode starts with the zombie-man opening his eyes (I think this PoS is just lying there pretending to be a vegetable, but that's for another time). And the look Alya has on her face when she looks at Cihan is indescribable. Almost as if everything inside her is pleading, 'Please don't regress back to where we just came from.' Because she fears, even as she tries to check on the zombie, that the closer Frankenboran gets to waking up, the further Cihan will drift from her. And, to an extent, her fears are proven right when Sadakat brings up divorce again. See, Alya doesn't come from strong family roots. She believes her biological mother abandoned her for most of her adult life. Then she has Caroline, who tries to fill all the empty spaces abandonment leaves in little Alya, but doesn't manage to succeed too much. As I've said before, Alya's primary fears stem from being abandoned and being a burden. That's what she tries to protect herself from. Those walls around her heart are in place to keep her from suffering that same pain again. That's both her strength and her weakness. While the fear pushes Alya to love harder, to push past difficulties, to rise from the ashes over and over, it also makes her more aloof. She doesn't find it as difficult as Cihan to leave behind 'family' ties because she's never experienced just how forceful those bonds can be. When it falls to her to choose between her love for Cihan and whatever she had with Boran, she picks the former without much guilt. But there's another factor that helps keep her from feeling much remorse for Boran, and that's the way her former husband treats her. Before Alya finds out about the will, her anger at Cihan is at an all-time high, and there's no question of any relationship developing between the two. After the will, however, that's a different story. So, when it falls to her to choose, she can do so easily, with her conscience at rest. And we see that so clearly in the way she announces she won't return to Boran even when he wakes up. Now, let's focus on the tricky bit. The weaknesses. Because Alya fears being a burden, being imposed on someone, adding to their strain, anything other than clarity can't help but raise doubts. When Cihan doesn't answer her question of 'Where will you stand?' with a clear with you or with you, distrust raises its ugly head. She starts asking herself if their relationship is what Cihan really wants now that Boran is back in the picture. She starts wondering whether Cihan will be able to shoulder the burden their relationship will add to his already weighed-down shoulders. It's harrowing to watch her be drawn to Cihan one instant, and pull back the next. Not because she doesn't love him, but because she can't bear to be another weight on Cihan's existence. That's what we see when she's shivering with fever. She wants him close, but she also doesn't want him to suffer. She keeps asking Cihan to leave, but he refuses to budge. And, that cures and hurts at the same time. For some reason, when she says, 'I'm also trying to find a way,' I couldn't help but feel that a part of her is already reverting back to the old Alya. The longer Cihan refrains from giving Alya a clear answer, the more her doubts grow. The more their 'impossibility' takes over her love. The closer she grows to wanting to leave. This time, if she attempts to leave, it won't be because her feelings overwhelm her. It'll be because she can't bear to see Cihan hurt anymore. Cihan Albora Oh boy. I can already hear the jeers of 'coward' and 'gavat' (which, by the way, I find to be a really ugly word) ringing in my ears. Well, fcuk that. Let's get back to our analysis. I talked about how Cihan seems to be stuck between suppression and surrender when it comes to his guilt. And, I did think that almost losing Alya would break that spell. But, clearly, that's not the road that Gulizar wants to take. Perhaps she does want it to come down to conflict. I'm not sure yet. What I am sure of is that Cihan is already aware of what he wants. And it's not wanting to be BFFs with Boran at the expense of Alya, guilt be damned. You can see it in the way his answers get bolder every time Sadakat asks him about a divorce. This episode is the first time Cihan states outright that the burden of 'conscience' isn't his to bear because he merely did what Boran asked of him. In other words, he didn't plan on falling in love with Alya, but it happened, and if there's any blame in that, it's not on him or Alya. Here's what irks most people. He doesn't ever talk about what he wants. It's always 'What if Boran wants this' or 'What if Boran wants that.' In other words, it's a form of misdirection on his part. He knows what's in his heart, but he doesn't want to say it out loud. Another scene where you can clearly see what his choice will be is when he's taking care of Alya during her fever. The more Alya insists that he leave, the more he digs in his heels. Until finally, he says, 'I won't allow anyone to hurt you, I won't allow anyone to harm you, and that's how it will be until I draw my last breath.' People don't say things like. 'That's how it'll be as long as I live,' if they're not sure about what they want. This is Cihan's strength. His love, protective instincts, and his code of sticking up for the people he loves. Unfortunately, like Alya, that's also his weakness. Cihan's been trained to fight for his family and his people to his very last. And, that's one HUGE reason why he can't verbalize what's already screaming inside his mind and his heart. We know he can't live without Alya, he says as much in the last episode. He keeps buying time because he knows once he states those words - there's no turning back. And he knows exactly how ugly things could go because dealing with ugly has been his entire existence. People won't be kind to him or Alya in the place where they live (think back to how Demir sends his goons to insult Alya's mom). And besides all that, what if Boran doesn't want to let go? That's when shit will truly hit the fan, because once Cihan says he's with Alya, he'll be fighting his brother, standing up to his mother, breaking his family apart, endangering Albora with internal strife, and worst of all, risking Alya and Deniz's safety. And remember, unlike Alya, who can control her conscience because of an extenuating factor, Cihan has no such relief. So, what you see is a man trying to survive an impending hurricane in a straw hut. He knows when that storm hits, and it will, things will go to hell. Besides all that, there is his stupid conscience that just won't shut the hell up because of that code of his. To me, that's not cowardice. That's a man standing at the edge of a life-changing truth, and being undone by the gravity of it. It's almost as if his soul is negotiating with reality, hoping to avoid collateral damage, while grieving for the version of himself he knows won't survive after he states his truth. As we can see in the scene where he and Alya are saying goodbye, they're already a family. His heart has already made the choice, so much so that in that scene, even Sadakat and Nare see the invisible bonds tying Cihan to Alya and vice versa. It's not a question of if, merely when. The Last Nail in the Coffin The question on everyone's mind is, what will it be? The last nail in the coffin of Cihan and Boran's brotherhood. The point of no return. To me, the way things are shaping up, there will be a clash. Will the showdown happen when Boran wakes up, or will Cihan learn the truth about his brother and finally be set free? I don't know. I've always had the inkling that Boran isn't what he claims to be. I guess we'll find out soon. But until then, I'll be watching. Gladly. For both my babies. Because she fears, even as she tries to check on the zombie, that the closer Frankenboran gets to waking up, the further Cihan will drift from her. And, to an extent, her fears are proven right when Sadakat brings up divorce again. See, Alya doesn't come from strong family roots. She believes her biological mother abandoned her for most of her adult life. Then she has Caroline, who tries to fill all the empty spaces abandonment leaves in little Alya, but doesn't manage to succeed too much. As I've said before, Alya's primary fears stem from being abandoned and being a burden. That's what she tries to protect herself from. Those walls around her heart are in place to keep her from suffering that same pain again. That's both her strength and her weakness. While the fear pushes Alya to love harder, to push past difficulties, to rise from the ashes over and over, it also makes her more aloof. She doesn't find it as difficult as Cihan to leave behind 'family' ties because she's never experienced just how forceful those bonds can be. When it falls to her to choose between her love for Cihan and whatever she had with Boran, she picks the former without much guilt. But there's another factor that helps keep her from feeling much remorse for Boran, and that's the way her former husband treats her. Before Alya finds out about the will, her anger at Cihan is at an all-time high, and there's no question of any relationship developing between the two. After the will, however, that's a different story. So, when it falls to her to choose, she can do so easily, with her conscience at rest. And we see that so clearly in the way she announces she won't return to Boran even when he wakes up. Now, let's focus on the tricky bit. The weaknesses. Because Alya fears being a burden, being imposed on someone, adding to their strain, anything other than clarity can't help but raise doubts. When Cihan doesn't answer her question of 'Where will you stand?' with a clear with you or with you, distrust raises its ugly head. She starts asking herself if their relationship is what Cihan really wants now that Boran is back in the picture. She starts wondering whether Cihan will be able to shoulder the burden their relationship will add to his already weighed-down shoulders. It's harrowing to watch her be drawn to Cihan one instant, and pull back the next. Not because she doesn't love him, but because she can't bear to be another weight on Cihan's existence. That's what we see when she's shivering with fever. She wants him close, but she also doesn't want him to suffer. She keeps asking Cihan to leave, but he refuses to budge. And, that cures and hurts at the same time. For some reason, when she says, 'I'm also trying to find a way,' I couldn't help but feel that a part of her is already reverting back to the old Alya. The longer Cihan refrains from giving Alya a clear answer, the more her doubts grow. The more their 'impossibility' takes over her love. The closer she grows to wanting to leave. This time, if she attempts to leave, it won't be because her feelings overwhelm her. It'll be because she can't bear to see Cihan hurt anymore. Cihan Albora Oh boy. I can already hear the jeers of 'coward' and 'gavat' (which, by the way, I find to be a really ugly word) ringing in my ears. Well, fcuk that. Let's get back to our analysis. I talked about how Cihan seems to be stuck between suppression and surrender when it comes to his guilt. And, I did think that almost losing Alya would break that spell. But, clearly, that's not the road that Gulizar wants to take. Perhaps she does want it to come down to conflict. I'm not sure yet. What I am sure of is that Cihan is already aware of what he wants. And it's not wanting to be BFFs with Boran at the expense of Alya, guilt be damned. You can see it in the way his answers get bolder every time Sadakat asks him about a divorce. This episode is the first time Cihan states outright that the burden of 'conscience' isn't his to bear because he merely did what Boran asked of him. In other words, he didn't plan on falling in love with Alya, but it happened, and if there's any blame in that, it's not on him or Alya. Here's what irks most people. He doesn't ever talk about what he wants. It's always 'What if Boran wants this' or 'What if Boran wants that.' In other words, it's a form of misdirection on his part. He knows what's in his heart, but he doesn't want to say it out loud. Another scene where you can clearly see what his choice will be is when he's taking care of Alya during her fever. The more Alya insists that he leave, the more he digs in his heels. Until finally, he says, 'I won't allow anyone to hurt you, I won't allow anyone to harm you, and that's how it will be until I draw my last breath.' People don't say things like. 'That's how it'll be as long as I live,' if they're not sure about what they want. This is Cihan's strength. His love, protective instincts, and his code of sticking up for the people he loves. Unfortunately, like Alya, that's also his weakness. Cihan's been trained to fight for his family and his people to his very last. And, that's one HUGE reason why he can't verbalize what's already screaming inside his mind and his heart. We know he can't live without Alya, he says as much in the last episode. He keeps buying time because he knows once he states those words - there's no turning back. And he knows exactly how ugly things could go because dealing with ugly has been his entire existence. People won't be kind to him or Alya in the place where they live (think back to how Demir sends his goons to insult Alya's mom). And besides all that, what if Boran doesn't want to let go? That's when shit will truly hit the fan, because once Cihan says he's with Alya, he'll be fighting his brother, standing up to his mother, breaking his family apart, endangering Albora with internal strife, and worst of all, risking Alya and Deniz's safety. And remember, unlike Alya, who can control her conscience because of an extenuating factor, Cihan has no such relief. So, what you see is a man trying to survive an impending hurricane in a straw hut. He knows when that storm hits, and it will, things will go to hell. Besides all that, there is his stupid conscience that just won't shut the hell up because of that code of his. To me, that's not cowardice. That's a man standing at the edge of a life-changing truth, and being undone by the gravity of it. It's almost as if his soul is negotiating with reality, hoping to avoid collateral damage, while grieving for the version of himself he knows won't survive after he states his truth. As we can see in the scene where he and Alya are saying goodbye, they're already a family. His heart has already made the choice, so much so that in that scene, even Sadakat and Nare see the invisible bonds tying Cihan to Alya and vice versa. It's not a question of if, merely when. The Last Nail in the Coffin The question on everyone's mind is, what will it be? The last nail in the coffin of Cihan and Boran's brotherhood. The point of no return. To me, the way things are shaping up, there will be a clash. Will the showdown happen when Boran wakes up, or will Cihan learn the truth about his brother and finally be set free? I don't know. I've always had the inkling that Boran isn't what he claims to be. I guess we'll find out soon. But until then, I'll be watching. Gladly. For both my babies. Tuesday - Louis CK Louie is 58 now but moves like he's 85. He's got the darkest thickest under-eye bags I've ever seen, they're even apparent from below. He will not make it to 70 and if he does he will be so physically repulsive he won't even have to tell jokes any more — which is a shame because in my opinion he's the greatest living stand up by far. I am sick and tired of pretending there's any competition in this genre. This was the THIRD time I had heard him do this set, which barely cracks his top ten hours, and I was laughing my ass off the entire time. EVEN WITH THIS LOUD DRUNK BITCH BESIDE ME.. it made me realize how formulaic Shane Gillis and every other big up-and-comer feels in comparison right now, like they're all rolling off a conveyor belt at the comedy factory where you take a PREMISE, add a PUNCHLINE, and a CALL BACK, with THREE TAGS, and mechanically deploy this stuff over and over with no real through-line or heart in it at all. Louie is relentlessly personal and so his sets evolve with him. I saw him for the first time last year in Indianapolis, and was "severely disappointed." He seemed stilted, nervous, coasting on absurdist buzzword shit tailored for drunken simpletons. He'd say "Vagina" with no context and these hicks would lose their minds. I drove 4 hours to see him that day and couldn’t believe how empty his material was. Jokes that could’ve been written by anybody. There was one prick of personal truth — when he talked about putting his Dad away in a Home. He's been writing about his absentee father his whole life. It’s obviously a great source of anxiety and frustration. So it's no surprise that he leaned in to that thread, sharpened it over the course of the tour, and now the whole set circles around this theme of aging: "All my fat friends are dead. If you have a friend that's older than 50 you should say goodbye." Says big tall egg-shaped Louie, who looks like two Carlins combined. My date was way too drunk to appreciate the occasion. We were in front row seats at the Hollywood Bowl. She bought them for us at dinner, 1 hour before. Different Asian girl from Monday. She had never been to a stand up show in her life, and so she didn't really "get" comedy, and she wouldn't stop fucking talking. Pulling her phone out and texting God knows who. The security guy whose job it was to prevent me from climbing on stage and whipping my cock out had to reprimand her: "Please put your phone away" in the middle of the set. I could not believe it. We're here in the front row beneath the GOAT and he's KILLING, in a stadium of 20,000, and you're texting on your god damn phone? Who? Who could it be? It was a homeless guy from reddit. Not me, a different homeless guy. At one point she actually asked if she could step out and do some blow. I said are you kidding? There's like 10 minutes left, just shut the fuck up and enjoy it. I'm starting to worry that females can't appreciate stand up like I can. Overall rating: 9/10. He’s probably gonna die soon but for now he’s still got it.
