yknow a game that has REALLY good camera work tho? METROID DREAD bc the camera in this game is Samus’s best friend, and the choreography is some of the best I’ve ever seen in a platformer highkey this is how Sonic should’ve been moving against the Titans

its biggest strength is how well it places these characters in the scene you’ll notice how it uses a ton of close ups, low angle, and over the shoulder shots to make the viewer feel more personally involved with Samus while establishing the size and power of who she’s up against

and this camera is far from static throughout it all that shit is ALIVE it drags, it sways, it swings, it shakes and rattles a little with each strike, and carries the action onscreen you’re a passenger on this crazy ass ride, not a spectator viewing from a safe perspective

you can have good animation you can have good graphics you can have good physics allat but a bad camera will kill everything you try to do and even what would otherwise be an incredible scene would look underwhelming as a result

I REALLY WANT EM TO LEARN FROM IT BC A CAMERA LIKE THIS IS WELL WITHIN REASON SAMUS IS A TOP 10 AURAFARMER, AND NO AURA CAN EXIST WITHOUT A GOOD CAMERA IF YOU FEED THE CAMERAMAN, THE AURA WILL FOLLOW THATS A FACT OF LIFE

Lowkey insane how Samus in this one game is more expressive than Sonic’s been in the past decade and a half she doesn’t even have a face

its aaaaaaall in the body language moves MOUNTAINS for her expressions, and makes those rare moments where we see her face even more special

this mixed with sonics cockiness would be pure kino

i lowkey remember some old video talking about sonic frontiers animations and one thing he said was like "first sonic game with a good camera is called the best in years" and now i just feel like part of why sonic gameplay feels choppy is the camera...
