The scene upholds the chess analogy. Brodie, (who acknowledges being a pawn), shoots diagonally from his corner. Marlo's best pieces come after him. Chris P in a straight line like a rook, Snoop diagonally like a bishop and finally O-Dog moves L-shaped just like a knight.

“This is my corner, I ain’t running no where!!!” Damn, man, I liked Bodie… this isn’t gonna be popular, but Bodie knew the game. He was about to flip. McNulty was opportunistic. He leveraged Boadie’s resentment and Lil Kev’s death. He used Boadie as a pawn too. He thought about him once at night then shrugged and went back to his girl. Boadie didn’t have a say in who bailed him out but when he started negotiating, “I ain’t giving up any Barksdale people,” what else could’ve happened? Boadie sure af wasn’t gonna hide, plus B’more wouldn’t do shit to protect him even if he’d let them. Can’t play both sides. I’m not trying to shit on Boadie, just saying.
