He is mistaken in his logic in a very deep way. So much so that I am now not sure if he really understood anything. Our civilization was not focused on expansion or ruling. If some expansion happened it was incidental or personal ambition. It was not in our DNA. We were indeed at the peak of science but it was not a science meant to conquer outer world. We focused our studies inward and really succeeded in that. One indicator to the fact is that despite the highest and brutalest conquests on our land, our religion and culture is still alive. Compare it to other conquering civilizations of the time e.g. greek, egyptial - all have been dead and erased. There must be something ingrained which is keeping ours alive. Secondly the Indian philosophy is not focused on tit for tat. It emphasizes on Karma. Jo boyega wo katega. Karma will bring the justice to all. Why we should get involved. Which I think is a fine philosophy but it wouldn't have hurt if we organised and protected our lands a little better
