Tried inventing the fire with CSS some time ago too

would love to know how you got it to look like that 🙏 got too much smoke in mine and need to get rid of that somehow perhaps by adjusting the alpha on the turbulence image

I will absolutely yoink this for recreating balatro in the web you can't keep doing this jhey Incredible how you stay on top of every single niche weird css thing I need to learn, guess slightly pushing the edge of the adjacent possible every day compounds a lot huh

ha - you might like another one i've been putting together as it's balatro inspired these flames need some refinement. need to work out getting rid of the smoke and then have a pixel filter to pixelize the flames 😎 exploration definitely compounds over time for real 💯🫶

I’m curious how you would recreate this

there's a pretty straight way to do this one: - generate random noise images - use as alpha masks against cloud-colored elements - translate the elements out with animation-composition on success ☁️ can put one together for you if you like 🤙

saw some DOOM fire there for a sec 🔥

as soon as I work out how to get rid of the smoke part 🙏 playin' with color matrix to try get a smooth animation 🤞 messin' with filters became the weekend experiment

Ooh I wonder if using perlin noise would make the animated fire feel more “real.” Really nice effect!

that's what feTurbulence does here to create the shape 🤙 jus need to refine and get a smooth animation going 🤏
