You cannot address discrimination by bringing in more discrimination. My take on UGC guidelines which has created more hate on student campuses instead of addressing it. The Education Minister needs to step in.

What do we do with regard to that, in terms of the ability for everybody who is on the campus, who faces some kind of discrimination? They should be able to go to the equity committee to address it. Unfortunately, that was not doing that. It was only giving a platform to SC, ST, and OBCs to be able to do that, while the general caste students were left out in the cold, and they did not have that particular pathway. Equity squads, through the implicit and explicit nature of discrimination, could take a call. Implicit could mean anything as far as the equity squad is concerned. Would it be through words, through actions, or through some perceptions or preconceived mindset about discrimination? Those were the things which I was speaking about. The Supreme Court has put a stay on it. I welcome it, and I hope the Government of India withdraws this particular guideline and ensures that any guideline that comes into place to address discrimination is not discriminatory in its nature."

The first step in fighting caste discrimination is to acknowledge that discrimination on the basis of caste do exist. Hence, Seattle became the first U.S state to recognise the problem and pass a resolution banning any form of discrimination on the basis of caste. Jai bhim !

"Savarna interviewers are biased." If there is no caste-based discrimination in the interview process, why are students called for interviews category-wise? UGC's equity rules were introduced to stop discrimination on campuses. Only casteist people are opposing them. Note it.

#WATCH | Noida, UP | On new guidelines of UGC, BJP leader Kalraj Mishra, "We have demanded that the unconstitutional rules, which are based on caste discrimination, and which include OBCs, should be amended. I believe that all sections of society need to be included in this. If any student from any caste or community faces discrimination, they should have the opportunity to file a complaint, and I believe that everyone should be included in this process. I feel that the guidelines provided by the UGC will increase separatism and violate the fundamental rights of the Constitution, and therefore, it will be considered unconstitutional. Secondly, we demand that punitive action be taken against those who file false complaints. Currently, there is no provision for punitive action. We believe that there should be such a provision. Thirdly, we demand that the grievance redressal committee, which has been designated as the Equal Opportunity Centre, should have representation from all sections of society. Furthermore, the committee's timeframe, scope, jurisdiction, and other details should be clearly defined. We also met with a delegation today. We discussed all these points with them. We also met with Dharmendra Pradhan, the Education Minister."

The Supreme Court has ended affirmative action. They didn’t strike down diversity; they struck down discrimination. Race doesn’t determine your value or your success in life. The court says Harvard was relying on the stereotype that “a black student can usually bring something that a white person cannot offer.” You can’t discriminate against Asians and whites in order to help blacks, because all discrimination is wrong. But if you ask the left, this decision was Armageddon. The real question the left won’t address- what’s the real reason the education system is letting African Americans down?
