You cannot fix poverty while making enterprise nearly impossible. I have heard every theory about why Africa is poor. People blame colonialism, racism, education, laziness, or even African intelligence (the IQ theory). Still, none of those explanations tell us why our people struggle under one set of rules and...

Enterprise is stifled in much of Africa. You are right. Cannot agree more. Like you. Still, none of those explanations tell us why our people struggle under one set of rules and thrive under another. The same people 🙂‍↕️ If the same people and enterprises produce much better outcomes under different conditions, perhaps the people are not the problem. The problem is a system. It punishes the very businesses that create jobs, and build towards national prosperity. May I add. It's extremely hard. NB. This is no excuse for poor performance. But the odds are terrible in a terrible environment.

Black americans are not as preyed upon by neferious politicians as in Africa. Populist ideology finds a healthy acceptance amongst a vastly uneducated yet desperate voter base

I'd blame the rulebook, not the people. Paying to be legal before you earn a penny kills enterprise first.

I enjoy your honest and informed takes. Only Africans like yourself can change the trajectory of Africa by speaking these truths. A mind-blowing statistic I recently learned: black people in the United States are estimated to hold 2-5 times the wealth of all Africans combined.

I’m sorry Africans are just not intelligent. They don’t believe in any real scientific facts because it may have come from a white person. All I hear from Africans is don’t believe the white man. Africa will never get ahead because of this ignorance.

It turns out you need the right kind of government rules to have a good economy. Private property and contract protection by law. Minimal interference by government in private transactions.

Capitalism and liberalism will never develop Africa! We would only end up like debt-ridden countries—such as France or the United States—that keep the printing presses running. This doctrine is destructive for Africa.

Фото профиля Magatte Wade

Money printing has nothing to do with free market entrepreneurialism. To be clear, Africa needs economic freedom (ie free enterprise, free trade, clear and transferable property rights, sound money, etc.) Without economic freedom, we will remain poor.

Africa doesn't need free market but rather order—like China, for instance. What you are describing is failing miserably in Europe and breeds imperialism aimed at stealing others' wealth, such as the US in Venezuela and France in Francophone Africa. Adopting liberalism isn't⬇️

The average IQ difference DOES explain this very accurately. The people leaving and thriving elsewhere are the upper half of the IQ curve that manages to "get out". It is same in the US where the blacks from poor neighborhood "make it out" and thrive in a white neighborhood.

Marc Andreessen says raw intelligence might be the worst qualification for leadership — and it changes everything about how we should think about AI. "If the leader is more than one standard deviation of IQ away from the followers, it's a real problem." Andreessen points to the US military, one of the earliest and most rigorous adopters of IQ testing, as the source of this insight. They slot people into specialties and leadership roles based on IQ scores. And over the years, they kept seeing the same pattern. A leader who is significantly less intelligent than their people struggles to model how those people think. That part is intuitive. But the reverse turns out to be equally true. "It's actually very hard for very smart people to model the internal thought processes of even moderately smart people." A leader who is two standard deviations above the norm of the organisation they're running also loses theory of mind, that ability to hold an accurate model of what's happening inside someone else's head. The gap is too wide in both directions. Andreessen then takes this to its logical conclusion: "If you had a person or a machine that had a thousand IQ or something like it, its understanding of reality would be so alien to the people or the things that it was managing that it wouldn't even be able to connect in any sort of realistic way." An AI that vastly outthinks every human in the room isn't positioned to lead those humans. It's positioned to be completely incomprehensible to them. Leadership has never really been an intelligence problem. It's a connection problem. And no amount of raw intelligence closes that gap — past a certain point, it only widens it. The world will not be run by the smartest thing in the room for a long time. Maybe ever.

When you break down the low IQ argument you quickly find out that what IQ tests are really measuring is the degree of Western education an individual has had. So, what do Western powers do? 1.They use this argument to imply that Black people are genetically low IQ intelligence 2.They keep African and Caribbean countries poor so that these countries cannot invest in education And the masses then take this low IQ argument to justify the worst form of mistreatment under the guise that Africans aren’t humans. And why do western powers have interest in keeping the low IQ lie going? Well, it provides a distorted moral cover for their continued plundering of the natural resources. Another reason is to make their population feel good about themselves while ignoring the true problems. Meaning “my true purchasing power has crashed, I have no healthcare, I work my ass off for pennies, my desirability has crashed, my empire cannot win any wars and is losing to brown skin people fast; but at least I’m higher IQ than black people. 🙏🏻🙏🏻. So no need to go fight the system”. Here is where it falls down, Nigerian and Ghanaian Americans far outclass any other groups in the US on all objective tests. And you can go check it out, It’s not even close. This should not be possible if Black people were genetically low IQ. You will never see the owners of this social media platform mention this. You know why?
