You cannot hate the UN enough. This interview with UN whistleblower Emma Reilly needs to be seen. She worked inside the UN’s Human Rights Office and exposed how the organization has repeatedly covered up systematic child sexual abuse and sexual exploitation by UN peacekeepers and staff around the world,... especially in places like the Central African Republic, Haiti, and DR Congo. Instead of protecting the victims (many of them children), senior officials protected the perpetrators and retaliated against those who tried to speak out. This isn’t ancient history. It’s ongoing. Every song release is a big deal. This song has waited a long time to have its moment. I remember when Sara, Sam and I wrote Fragile (the same day we wrote another song called Madness), it held a special place in my soul as a human. So much so, that it kept disappearing from different projects as if to wait for the right moment to be introduced to the world. Being on Evergreen, song release number 3… it’s crazy how things work themselves out for the best when you trust the process. I always wanted to change the lyrics of the first line because I was afraid it wouldn’t make sense. But the more I worked with it, the more personal it became, and the more truth it carried. I would tell you what it means to me, but I want to hear how all of you connect with it first, so I’ll just say this… This one is for anyone in a season of life where the structure of you that you’ve built for the world needs to take a break and make space to care for the human inside. Whether you have those people, or that person in your life that loves and supports that human, or you’re looking forward to meeting that person someday, this is for you. You deserve to be the human you are, and you deserve to be loved and seen for that human. And if you haven’t felt it yet, I can’t wait for you to feel what it’s like to find someone who makes you feel safe enough to be Fragile.

Mariam Wangadya, Head of the Uganda Human Rights Commission, should as a bare minimum protect and defend the rights of the people she works with at the Commission. Unfortunately, she is involved in “muzigo” exchanges with them and even victimizing those who are HIV positive. Dear Ms. Wangadya, is the need for ARVs among those you work the reason the Commission you head is so incompetent! Are those who need expensive ARVs the reason you stay silent instead of calling to order those involved in human rights violations? Ironically Ms. Wangadya is promoting stigma and discrimination. She should be protecting HIV victims instead of stigmatizing them. Hopefully, she is called to order and made to apologize for her careless and insensitive utterances.
