I've 2 pals and 3 relatives who work full time in care homes All live/work in the N/East & Nth Yorkshire This fallacy that ''our folk'' won't do these jobs must only happen in Southern areas, because our reality is, we'd do ANY job to not be unemployed, as should they Same for pickers. My nephew and his mates lost their jobs during lockdowns They applied for EVERY vacancy all could find and not ONE employer replied Later, read those same companies had imported a load of foreigners for the exact jobs no one bothered to reply to their applications Too obvious that some employers don't want us, only foreign labour
