video result: HW4 stops for wall. HW3 doesn't stop for wall. Solid test! both on the Model Y this time, lighting conditions alike, and banger ending.

A fair & unbiased test. Though you’ll never see a wall painted to look like the road in real life, it’s clear that HW3 cars will need an upgrade. HW4 for the win. Thank you! @elonmusk

Bad NEWS for HW3 Tesla owners: it won’t ever be able to achieve FSD Two options: Either wait till ⁦Tesla AI⁩ offers retrofit to upgrade HW4 Or trade up to New Tesla w HW4 when @tesla offers free FSD transfer (IMO - it is coming up in near term )

If you are a HW4 Tesla owner in Arizona, Indiana or Oregon, you can now get Lemonade Autonomous Car Insurance with a 50% discount on every mile driven using FSD. You pay a low fixed parking price, then pay only for miles driven each month. If you have FSD activated, those miles are 50% off. The company says that as FSD versions improve, prices will go down further. As always, insurance is different for everyone, so make sure you check other options to see what’s right for you. If available, Tesla Insurance might be cheaper if you have high FSD usage as well.

Two reasons I disengage from Tesla FSD (HW4): 1.) I want FSD to take a diff route than suggested. Potential easy solution in the video: Just let me "draw" the route I wanna take. 2.) The full-stop at stop signs. I tap the accelerator when using FSD to do a rolling stop which is way more natural. The NHTSA made Tesla do the full-stop thing in 2022 and it's just annoying, especially when driving through a neighborhood with tons of stop signs. Those seem to be last remaining reasons why I disengage FSD (other than to just drive myself for fun)! Tesla - Elon Musk - Ashok Elluswamy

Here’s why Tesla HW4 vehicles won’t receive free upgrades to HW5 or beyond, while HW3 vehicles will. HW3/AI3 cars were sold under the clear promise, straight from Elon and Tesla’s own website, that the hardware was sufficient for safe, unsupervised Full Self-Driving (see video below). HW4/AI4 cars, on the other hand, were explicitly marketed as capable of Supervised FSD. At no point did Elon or Tesla suggest that HW4/AI4 would deliver unsupervised autonomy.
