Any post op total hip or total knee replacement patient of mine who asks for a handicapped parking permit, gets a permanent one. They may appear to walk normally to the layperson, but prolonged distance walking can be difficult. Do not presume to know anyone else’s story.

My wife has good days and bad. Some days, she can walk with a cane, others it's a wheeled walker w/ a seat, and still others, it's wheelchair time. Her level of function can literally depend on the weather that day.

some days I walk with 1 crutch, some days 2, some days none, it depends on my pain level that day. my son has no motor skills issues, but he has seizures. We each have placard. just because the disabled sign has a wheelchair, doesn't mean every disability is mobility issues.

I’m only 31 and can walk but there are days where my body says no bc of a spinal fusion and sciatica. I keep a cane around bc of it. My leg has given out in the middle of grocery stores before. You never truly know just by looking at a person 😔

Just went through a similar thing yesterday with my husband. My husband has ataxia and it causes his legs to shake uncontrollably. He is 45. He can only walk very short distances with a walker and never by himself. Went to Costco, used handicap spot and one of their 1/

I have a handicapped placard, and you should see the dirty looks I get when I get out of my vehicle and walk fine into the store. Where are these people when I'm hanging on to the cart, in pain, getting back in my vehicle?
