This is the first time in 3 years neither I or Pivot Podcast was nominated for a Sport’s Emmy. I wanted badly for the people we work with, & more importantly Lil Greg Brooks. He was going to be our guest. Someone said I’m not known as sports anymore, I get it. I never meant to be “just” sports. I’m so grateful when people tell is we’ve impacted their life beyond sports. I’m responsible for me. I have to be accountable for what I say, & how I say it. This stands for every situation, & especially in my interaction with Peter Schrager. I respect Peter’s opinions, & the work he has done to be where he is. I was not dismissing what he said, because it was a valid thought. I was simply attempting to give an in helmet perspective. So, now he’s being villainized for giving his perspective on how that sort of money could be broken down. He was actually saying he’s ok without earning more money. 43 years of Woh 7 Din. ❤️ Some films stay with you forever. For me, this will always be one of them. I have said it earlier and I’ll always say it, that I am grateful to #PadminiKolhapure and #NaseeruddinShah. I always miss them a little extra when it comes to celebrating Woh 7 Din. If it wasn’t for them, I don’t think I’d be celebrating these 43 years today. They made a newcomer like me feel welcome and gave me the confidence I needed to connect with the audience. A big thank you to the Great and Late #BapuSaab for also believing in me and directing me, #KBhagyaraj for writing such a beautiful story, and to my father #SurinderKapoor and my brother Boney Kapoor for believing in me and producing the film. Before Woh 7 Din, I had done a few films, but this was the one that truly introduced me to all of you. “Growing up, Davido has always been my biggest mentor and the artist I looked up to the most. Working with Wizkid happened because my boss, Bella Shmurda, formed me and really pushed me to do it. I agree with him that skin color isn’t the most important thing about his babies. Still, many in this country see color. They see it first, & sometimes only. Michael & Brie exude love, but their children need to be prepared for the hate their skin color can elicit. I’ve said many times before that I never wanted to join THE REAL WORLD because I thought it was a scam. My woman gave me the $49.99 so I can try it and hopefully give us a better life. It goes without saying that it was the best decision I’ve ever made. I’m eternally thankful to the Tate brothers AND THEIR TEAM for not only teaching me how to make money but the mentality and discipline that it comes from being successful. It’s not just about filling your pockets with money. It’s about making YOU successful mentally, physically and financially. If you won’t do it for yourself, do it for someone you love.
