I went for Chrome since people already have it. No deps, and headless always is going to create issues. Instead a plain open browser.

So if you are going to support skills, why not just agent-browser CLI? Like what is the goal here? What counts as self contained? I think the speed of ds4-agent is amazing on my M5 Max but I’ll still use Pi, and sacrifice ~10+ t/s because it’s easily extensible and customisable.

Because the idea of the project is integration. More deps means more fragility and all the other users are served by ds4-server. Btw a clarification: using pi you don't lose speed, the inference itself runs at the same speed. Ds4-agent is more reactive and custom built to work well but no speed difference from the pov of tokens/sec.

This might be related to the date of the knowledge base; it should be refreshed after the initialization process is completed.

I think that by directly supporting MCP, you will gain a very rich ecosystem without needing to implement tools separately.

Yep I'll add indeed ~/.ds4/skills/ support, if the directory is not empty the agent will be told there are information about specific things, like filename -> First line of text or title or something like that. Very simple but useful indeed. It is in the TODO list.

check this out, I'm using it with opencode ds4-flash as daily driver to enable websearches for free. the chrome instance sits in the background and is accessible via http layer/cli. stealth, persistent session as well. html -> md hope it can be useful

Web search is such a good use case for local models! Even smaller ones, given just a search engine and a fetch tool, are quite good. And I found mid-sized ones (eg qwen3.6:27B) running on pi mindblowing for this task (I use SearXNG API though as it’s become my main search engine)
