Some people with real life jobs that only play 5-10 hours a week and don’t want to take 4 months to reach level 60. How about we just let people play however they want? Nobody is getting that add on not realizing they will miss out on random encounters… they accept that.

True, but I’m fine if people want to. Let people play the way they want to. Optimize not optimize. It’s not cringe to use or to go add on free- only cringe to criticize others on how they choose to spend their time on a video game. There isn’t a right way to play. Not sayin you are doing this but some of the comments out there add on shaming is just sad.

I'm all for "Play the game your way" but letting people sell the addons is too much. It's a blatant violation of the ToS and has terrible long term implications for the game.

Not to mention, in Forever they will be shoving so many new quests down our throats that you will never need to grind, ever. You'll never not have something to do, and for a long time, every journey to 60 will be fresh.

Trying to min max everything just sucks out the fun soon much. We have so much time to do everything, why would you literally put chains on yourself like that. Basically everything in videogames is "meaningless", the only thing that matters is the experiences and fun you have

Mixed thoughts on this. I think the classic mentality for speeding to 60 will drive their use. I’ll most likely use QoL addons for professions etc. For main I’m in no rush and will immerse. Alts will probably be a diff story.

Bro is out here reminding us there really is a right and a wrong way to play. It was always a social game first. Take this guy's advice. Just wing it and see what happens. You'll have far more fun doing random things than you ever will following someone else's guides.

This is why I use Questie though, it shows all the quests you might miss lol. So it's technically an addon.

Speak the truth. I am not letting the min/max get in my way this time around. I did that with Vanilla Classic relaunch and wish I didn't. I don't expect lvl 60 til mid to late December.

Yes!!! I am not using any addons. I said good bye to all of them. Not even the bag one. I want to explore and learn the land. I want to have to read the quest and have to find where I have to go. It isn’t just about the leveling. It is about living in the world of Azeroth . I want it to matter who the characters are and to need to remember who that guy is who sold me my bag or have to find and explore.

I'm going into Forever with no questing addons and etc, and taking my sweet ass time. Going to read all the quests and absorb all the lore again. You only get your "first" playthrough once (even though yeah I've played vanilla and classic, but you know what I mean).

I get the take but I think calling it priceless and invaluable is a stretch. WoW shouldn't be a second life, it's just a video game and a lot of the people returning for WoW Forever (myself included) quit because wow can suck a lot of your time up. Leveling addons let you have some fun, get in and get out. It's beer and pretzel gaming.

Completely agree. I've had so many of these kinds of things happen when leveling way back in the day, and even in the WoW:F beta. I'm not going to be using an addon.

Yeah but we do have jobs, and happy mistakes when playing 90 minutes of wow every other day is just not possible

Ok I get that but I had Carbonite and still had be rescued by @akawookz many a times for trying to get exp through learning all areas. It sounds like they are just boring humans.

whats with all the hate for leveling guides recently? i loved them in retail, it showed you the quickest way to end game, for half the price of a boost from blizzard. it alow let you learn your rotations and skills where a boost for 2x the price just dropped you at close to max for forever i got it as well, so that i could find the stuff i maybe missed. if you set the guides to max it lets you become a completionist. its in game so no need to alt tab to a guide on wow head

the main issue, that when in 2006 i was leveling without addons (none existed) - i never found that LIghthouse ghost with quests. Sooo

I disagree. I know the zones, especially the earlier zones, so well that literally nothing is new. For me the questing addon is just for efficiency and less running back and forth from 1 spot to another because you missed/forgot a quest from a chain earlier you coulda done.
