What the hell was the first base umpire doing?

Good call by umpire John Libka, who correctly ruled that the Mariners' Dylan Moore had abandoned first base. That mistake is on Mariners first base coach Kristopher Negrón, who failed to inform Moore that the ball was still in play.

Fire the first base coach and bench the runner. Complete lack of focus. Inexcusable.

What the heck was the first base coach doing? He should be yelling there to let him know the ball hit the ground. He doesn’t look like he’s saying anything. 🤷🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️

Mariners stop giving up outs on the basepaths challenge.

I blame the 1st base coach. It’s his responsibility to see what is happening with the ball, who has it, where it is, and relay that information to his base runner.

And when you do they almost always involve the runner making too wide a turn at first rather than (checks notes) jogging back towards home.
