the way ilya didn’t even hesitate when he was asked, “you would leave boston for shane?” and just said yes. shane is his priority, the one man whose freckles he adores and the one man he’s in love with. he’s ready to leave his team, his country, everything behind for him. and then you have shane practically dying from stress in front of his own family while ilya is comforting him with his words and little touches, even though he’s just as stressed himself… yeah, i hope everyone is lucky enough to have a partner who loves them like that

I definitely went to it thinking like, well, let's manage your expectations, because obviously they're not going to find actors who are going to perfectly bring theses characters to life.
