You had to be there

Longtime Caps announcer Joe B with the call!

Oh I miss this so much. The atmosphere inside the arena, goal song and Malkin in his prime. What a time to be alive.

Spectacular goal for sure. But that's likely not even Top 5 for his franchise's "I'm him" moments.

Haha yeah I hated this

still gives me chills

Prime Malkin was one of the most dominant players of all time, what a beast!

Don’t remind me

I was there. Absolutely incredible

I remember this goal. Left me speechless.

Bigger stage true, but not the first time that he had done this. He had used the same move March 16, 2008 against the Flyers in a 7-1 win. I know because I was there.

u lucky to have Joe B on the call

Top 5 greatest playoff goal I’ve ever seen

This is so silly

The best broadcaster in the game on the call

Dominated that round

He sodomized Carolina that series

I was literally there

Prime geno and prime Datsyuk might be the greatest hockey players of all time

find myself rewatching 2009 Malkin playoff highlights at least once every year 😅 too clutch..

I barely think about Malkin, but when I do, it is absolutely this goal that I'm thinking about. Ridiculous. Filthy.

71 was the greatest of all time at this moment

Absolute beast and my fav playoff backhand goal

To believe it

this from this post year lmaoooooo don’t even remember the context but bro was beefin lmao

He was on a tear that year in the playoffs. I feel blessed to have been able to watch every game here in England on dodgy streams😂

Why do I misremember that this game was within a goal when Geno did this???

No we didn't

Best goal I ever watched live

Beauty

I started watching hockey in 2009-10 season. I hate that i took so long to get into the game.

71 was absolutely unstoppable that post season. The self pass off the board was Crosbyesque.

So nasty man
