Jason, we’re thrilled to have you here, safe and savoring the freedoms our ancestors fought and died for. Patriotic Americans are prepared to sacrifice their lives to preserve this freedom. Please never let your guard down, as there are people who would gladly seize our freedoms. When traveling and hiking, always be prepared for the weather. Research our national parks and be aware of Missing 411. There is some strangeness in our national parks. (I do like to travel and hike as well.) While we are so fortunate to have a beautiful country and are deeply grateful to God for our freedoms. We are also aware of a spiritual presence. Most of us carry some form of protection and stay within safe zones. I do, so love watching your adventures and seeing how happy you are to have such freedoms. Oh I wish you could come to NC and take a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway. You talk about beautiful nature. It's some of the most incredible you'll ever see, AND, you can pull off almost anywhere along your ride and have a picnic on the grass. The views will blow you away.

That looks A LOT like a trail located near Decatur, Alabama. If so, the bird of prey you saw may have been an Osprey. We have several of those around here. But we have many nature trails like that in the U.S., so this could've been one of a dozen places, I suppose.

I'm an American and I know how overwhelmed I am every single day about the enormous blessings we all share here in America, so I can only try to imagine how overwhelmed you are about it all after experiencing first-hand the horrible conditions in South Africa that was your home.
