Country star Luke Combs says his first favourite song was Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car”. He covered it earlier this year and the song hit #1 on country charts in July. Chapman owns the song’s composition rights and became the first black female to top Country chart as a sole writer. What did she think of the cover? Chapman told Billboard: “I never expected to find myself on the country charts, but I’m honored to be there. Max Levchin on how Peter Thiel reacted to losing his entire investment in Luke Nosek’s failed startup When assembling the found team for PayPal, Max Levchin wanted to recruit Luke Nosek. But he was worried at how Peter Thiel would react given that Peter lost his entire investment in Luke’s failed startup SmartCal: “I was certain that Luke and Peter would not get along because Luke had just lost all the money Peter invested in his startup… I never had investors up until this point, so I was really not familiar with the relationship you have” With trepidation he told Peter that Luke was really bright and worth trying to work with again. And he was surprised at Peter’s response: “Oh of course. I should’ve thought of that myself.” So you’re not mad it him? Max asked. “No, he’s brilliant.” Then Peter recruited Luke while Max recruited the rest of the PayPal founding team. After PayPal, Luke went on to work at Peter Thiel’s venture firm, Founders Fund. I think there’s a really important lesson here. Statistically, the vast majority of startups fail, and the best investors know how hard it is to build something brand new and innovative. Very few people succeed on the first go-around, and it’s not necessarily a reflection on you if your startup fails. Obviously you don’t want to fail, but as Vinod Khosla puts it: to do something exceptional, you have to be willing to fail.

Filed by Houston attorney Tony Buzbee, the complaint states that the young rapper, accompanied by his parents, traveled to Manhattan with hopes of advancing his career through meetings with music industry executives, including Diddy. During the encounter, he was reportedly offered a soda, which he believes was laced with drugs. The following details are from the lawsuit and are extremely graphic: 1. Combs pushed the boy down and said words to the effect of, "You have to do some stuff you don’t want to do sometimes." 2. Once the boy had been pushed down, Diddy pulled his p*nis out of his pants and told the ten-year-old boy to ‘kiss it.’ 3. When the boy resisted, Combs forced his p*nis into the boy's mouth and proceeded to repeatedly push it in and out. 4. The then boy alleges he “froze in terror,” lost consciousness and later woke up with his pants undone and pain in his anus and buttocks. “Daddy Cool” is from Boney M.’s debut album Take the Heat off Me (1976). The song’s deep male vocal heard in lines like “She’s crazy like a fool…” was actually performed by producer Frank Farian, while Bobby Farrell, the group’s charismatic dancer and visual frontman, typically lip-synced those parts in live appearances, television performances and videos. One of the early and great songs I discovered of Mac’s was “Angel's Theme.” When I first heard this lovely melody, I got very emotional. It was stored in his files from his early college days. Mac was just beginning to write on piano and for other instruments and came up with the beautiful melody featuring violin and piano. Not only did I find the recording he made, but I also found his original chart and arrangement. I loved it so much that I brought it to my LT Dan Band music director Ben Lewis and we’ve added it to our set list. Mac’s salute to the troops. In September of 2025, we filmed the song at our Nashville Salutes Heroes event at the Nashville Speedway. This is a special song, one of the first that Mac wrote. As we are gearing up for the release of his third album (thank you to all who have ordered in our presale), please take a look at this new video from Resurrection & Revival Part 2. I hope you take a moment to view: Miss you, Mac.
