He thought the gun showing in his pocket made him look dangerous. The criminal saw something else. An opportunity. That is the part people miss. Most people see a gun and leave you alone. But you are not carrying because of most people. You are carrying because of the person who does not care. The person who sees you bent over. Sees your guard down. Sees the gun exposed. And thinks: I can take that. Your gun is not a warning sign. Not to everybody. To the wrong person, it becomes a target. A homing beacon. And now the thing you brought to protect yourself is in another man’s hand. That is why awareness matters. That is why concealment matters. That is why control matters. Because having a gun on you does not replace paying attention. It makes paying attention even more important. Be honest: does visible carry make you safer, or does it make you a target?
