**Survival Island (2005)** (also released under the title *Three*) is a low-budget erotic thriller and survival drama directed by Stewart Raffill. It stars Billy Zane as the wealthy but insecure Jack, Kelly Brook as his young wife Jennifer, and Juan Pablo Di Pace as the handsome yacht crew member Manuel. Filmed on location in the Bahamas, the movie follows three people stranded on a deserted tropical island after their yacht catches fire and sinks. What begins as a straightforward fight against nature quickly turns into a tense love triangle filled with jealousy, class resentment, sexual tension, violence, and a supernatural element involving a voodoo curse. The story opens during a Christmas yachting trip in the Caribbean. Jack and Jennifer, a rich married couple, have chartered a private yacht with friends, including Captain Richards and his wife. Among the crew is Manuel, a muscular young man whose presence immediately draws the attention of Jennifer and her friend Gail. Before the yacht departs, Manuel gets into a heated argument with his pregnant ex-girlfriend Maria on the dock. In a fit of anger and despair, Maria places a curse on him, an act that lingers over the rest of the film through occasional cuts to her performing voodoo rituals back..... On board, tensions rise quickly. Jack is accustomed to getting his way with money and status. He becomes irritated by Manuel’s interest in Jennifer and the general atmosphere. After a confrontation, Manuel quits his job in frustration and carelessly throws a rag onto a lit stove in the galley. The rag ignites, the fire spreads rapidly, and the yacht is soon engulfed. The passengers and crew abandon ship in lifeboats, but a storm capsizes the boats overnight, scattering everyone. Jennifer washes ashore alone on a small, uninhabited island. She finds the body of Captain Richards in the water and tries to revive him. Moments later, Manuel appears. Together they bury the captain and begin the practical work of survival: building a rudimentary hut from branches, netting, and scavenged materials on the beach, collecting water, and searching for food For a brief period, Jennifer and Manuel believe they are the only survivors. They struggle without fire at first—Manuel explains that common movie tricks like focusing sunlight with goggles will not work here. Their relationship develops an undercurrent of attraction mixed with mutual dependence. Jennifer learns that Manuel struck his ex-girlfriend because she claimed to be pregnant, adding a layer of complexity to his character. Two days later, while fishing near the reef, Manuel discovers Jack alive, washed up and injured on rocks. He brings Jack back to the camp. Jack confirms that Gail and their other friend Bill did not survive, leaving only the three of them.

Once Jack recovers, the dynamic shifts permanently. Grateful at first, he quickly grows suspicious and hostile, convinced that something has happened (or will happen) between Jennifer and Manuel. He declares Manuel an enemy and promises to ruin him if they are ever rescued. The group divides the beach into separate spaces: Jack and Jennifer occupy one hut, while Manuel builds his own nearby with a clear boundary. Survival remains difficult. Sharks patrol the shallows, the reef is sharp, mosquitoes swarm the interior, and keeping a fire going is a constant worry. Jack possesses a lighter, which becomes a symbol of his remaining power. He steals Manuel’s diving goggles to fish, triggering a confrontation in which Manuel threatens to kill him. Jennifer intervenes, but the situation escalates when they exit the water. Manuel pins Jennifer down and begins to force himself on her as revenge against Jack. She resists at first, then stops resisting; the encounter becomes consensual, and they have sex. Manuel later confesses that he has loved her since he first saw her. Jennifer feels remorse and hints at the betrayal to Jack, who rejects her Jack discovers a sunken boat or usable wreckage and begins repairing it in secret. One night, while he watches from a distance, Manuel and Jennifer go for a midnight swim and make love in the water. She suggests they steal the boat and escape together. The next morning they try, but the vessel sinks almost immediately—Jack had sabotaged it so they would drown. They swim back to the island, exhausted. Jack attacks Manuel with a spear, kidnaps Jennifer, and ties her up, threatening further violence. Manuel frees her, and the pair flee into the jungle. From that point, the island becomes a battleground. The groups steal food from each other, set traps, and escalate their hatred. Jack grows increasingly paranoid and controlling. Meanwhile, intercut scenes show Maria continuing her voodoo ritual, driving nails or spikes into an effigy of Manuel In the climax, Jack tracks Jennifer and Manuel to a tree. He throws a spear that causes Manuel to fall. Wounded and weakened from earlier injuries, Manuel is unable to fully defend himself. As the two men fight, Jennifer tries to intervene. At the same moment, Maria completes her ritual by impaling the doll. Manuel loses his balance, falls onto a sharp stick or spear, and dies. The supernatural curse and Jack’s physical attack coincide in his death. Jennifer is left alone with Jack. Time passes—months or roughly a year. A family on a yacht approaches the island, discovers Jennifer sleeping in her hut, and offers rescue. She leaves with them, taking Jack’s lighter and deliberately abandoning him on the island without revealing his presence. Jack watches the boat depart, his fate left ambiguous... The movie blends practical survival elements (shelter-building, fishing, water collection) with erotic content—multiple nude and sex scenes involving Kelly Brook and the male leads—and thriller tropes of jealousy and revenge. Critics and viewers have often described it as generic or trashy “erotic thriller” fare that leans heavily on Brook’s physical presence and the tropical setting, with uneven acting and a somewhat muddled plot involving the voodoo subplot. It was largely a direct-to-cable or limited release title (appearing on Showtime in the U.S.) and has developed a minor cult reputation among fans of beach survival and 2000s softcore-tinged dramas, largely because of its unapologetic mix of sex, isolation, and interpersonal conflict rather than pure action or high-concept storytelling.

In short, *Survival Island* (Three) uses the classic “three people stranded on an island” premise to explore how money, status, and desire collapse under the pressure of isolation, turning allies into rivals and transforming survival into a personal and sexual power struggle. The beach shelter scenes, intimate water encounters, and escalating tensions between the balding or closely cropped male characters and the woman in light or yellow clothing that appear in the circulating clip are representative of the film’s core visual and thematic focus.
