Definitely feels like that what if writer kinda took over in the 2nd half. Especially with how the season resolves like we were watching two different shows 1-4 vs 5-9

@Comicsexplained The dialogue between characters and how they spoke to each other this season after episode 4 was one of the main things that caught my attention compared to season 1. Magneto, Baston, Prof X, Storm Cyclops etc really had some good lines during S1

This season felt like an anthology series… it felt very “what if’y” to me

To me, it seemed like more like a string of what if episodes in the second half more than any kind of continuity whatsoever. There was only one concept being brought back after the third or fourth episode, which was apocalypse, but it really seem super fragmented.

I felt like it went downhill once Magneto died. Yes I know his death won’t be permanent. Then the whole 2nd half you can easily tell it’s What If writers.

Bro.. they messed up a LAY UP. Transition to either Age of Apocalypse or Onslaught. They messed THAT up for GLITTER ROGUE. In my book the series is DEAD. They can’t write and don’t know the source material. A glaring lack of creativity.

They need to bring Bo back. It’s obvious they need his ideas.

My issue was Apocalypse saying he was going to take Cable's body, then Gambit's for some reason. I thought he was building the Four Horsemen to take Cable, then we could've gotten Onslaught vs Apocalypse after a Xavier crashout.

The 2nd half of the season felt VERY much like it was meant for a show with like 20 episodes. You got xfactor really tieing everything together and basically 1 episode for each group tieing everyone together. It just didn't have an overall big storyline.

You guys keep giving these hack writers too much slack and then they end up disappointing us. This show has absolutely been Winderbaumed ! Lol he's gotta go.

Damn I didn’t think about that, if they can’t do the writing for the animated series right what hopes does the live action saga have 😔

Hard to tell a grand story that’s driven by character development in 10 episodes. Show needs to rotate between 10 episode season and 20 episode seasons like the old show give us the insane story and then give us the character development.

With season 3 we need more episodes or longer episodes so they can effectively tell the stories.

I think the last sentence is needlessly inflammatory. These are different teams working in different mediums.

The Wolverine episode could've been broken up and used for mid-credits. Invincible does it, they tell entire story arcs that way.

Personally I think them cutting the tenth episode hurt them. I'm not saying it had to be Beau's episode; but the climax of this episode is too rushed. If this had been a two partner and this ended with Gampocalypse it would be fine. Then we could let the final fight breathe.

Rob it’s not that hard to understand..demayo wrote season 1 and you can tell he wrote all the way up to episode 4 and that’s it ..so X-men 97 is going to tank after that and it shows how demayo had a vision for what the X-men would be ..they need to hire him back for the show

It was a disappointment

Here’s my thought and hear me out — 2nd half felt like a course correction to avoid Onslaught. TBH, with Magneto being awakened at the end of Season 1, the whole Onslaught premise was dying. Then with Xavier helping Polaris, Onslaught was def out the window. So I didn’t feel lost

Winterbaum'd? As in the producer? That's a turn of phrase I have not heard before.

100 percent agree with this.....that last sentence scares me though

I personally have liked the whole season. I think it serves its purpose as a 2nd season of something that will build. You have that sometimes with shows.
