I love when Jordan Peterson said something along the lines of "sometimes you need to aim low so that you know you can achieve it" Because sometimes it is better to hit the goal so that you create these feedback loops that cause a snowball of success

This is precisely why we need to teach men how to commit. There's no such thing as having it all together or knowing exactly how it will turn out, and yet you still need to commit to the girl, the career path, the friendships, the religious practice, the workout routine. You will work it out as you go along.

Definitely one of the most important things out there. Too many people don’t have a goal.

Having only one goal is quite dangerous... You might lose interest after some time

Having a goal is great, having a big hairy ambitious goal is, too. However, I am in a spot where I must forgo the latter and concentrate on the former. That's hard when the big goal has become my purpose, and the small goal is just getting the basics in. Maslow is useful, here.

How do you set a goal worth aiming for when most things feels pointless?
