With a medal at the Milano Cortina Olympics, skier Nick Goepper would become the first American in an individual sport to reach the podium at four different Winter Olympic Games. Goepper, 31, won bronze in slopestyle at the Sochi Games in 2014, then followed with silvers in PyeongChang and Beijing. All that’s missing is gold. Kawhi Leonard says he draws inspiration from anyone who works on their craft — from athletes to producers, rappers, and construction workers. “With any craft… they always talk about the work and the consistency. All the greats in any genre. Any aspect of a craftsmanship. It’s always about work. Listening to music and studying different craftsmanship. Basketball or just anything. Construction worker, people building houses. It’s always about that extra work and the extra hours you put in. So that’s what I took into my craft and wanted to be the best, or one of the best to play. And that’s what I did.”

I have so many fond memories of my time as a student at The Mecca, and I recognize that my time at Howard shaped me into the person I am today. At Howard, we learn that we have the capacity to be great — and that we also have the responsibility to work hard to live up to that potential each day. Happy homecoming, Bison!
